1. Raise the temperature of bearing (56) . Install bearing (56) onto shaft (57) . Use Tooling (C) to
install retaining ring (58) onto shaft (57) .
2. Install bearing (56) and shaft (57) .
3. Install the O-ring seals, lip seal (55) , cover (54) , and bolts (53) .
4. Install bearing races (52) .
5. Install rods (49) to swashplate (41) .
6. Install bearings (51) to swashplate (41) . Install a rubber band to each bearing (51) , as shown.
The rubber band will hold bearing (51) to swashplate (41) .
7. Carefully install swashplate (41) into housing (50) .
8. Cut and remove the rubber band on each of the bearings.
9. Install pin retainers (48) and the plugs .
Note: Make sure that retainers (48) engage on both sides of pins (49) .
10. Repeat Step 9 for the opposite side.
11. Install cover (38) and bolts (37) .
12. Install the screw and cap (39) .
13. Repeat Step 12 for the opposite side.
14. Place Tooling (H) on a surface plate.
15. Install port plate (35) to Tooling (H) .
16. Install barrel assembly (40) onto Tooling (H) and port plate (35) .
17. Install Tooling (G) into bearing (45) .
18. Install bearing (45) and Tooling (G) onto barrel (40) .
19. Install retainer plate (43) onto bearing (45) .
20. Bolt Tooling (D) to Tooling (E) .
21. Install assembled Tooling (D) and Tooling (E) onto the bearing (45) . Make sure that Tooling
(D) and Tooling (E) is properly seated.
22. Record the dimension that is stamped on the side of Tooling (E) . This dimension is the distance
from the top of retainer plate (36) to the top of Tooling (E) . This dimension is called
Dimension (W) .

23. Use Tooling (F) to measure the distance from the top of the surface plate to the top of Tooling
(E) . Record this dimension. Call this Dimension (X) .
24. Use the following calculation: Dimension (X) - Dimension (W) = Dimension (Y) .
25. Dimension (Y) is the correct lift-off limitation without shim (47) .
Note: This is the correct lift-off limitation for the main hydraulic pump. 146.10 + 0.0 - 0.25
mm (5.752 + 0.00 - 0.010 inch) Call this Dimension (Z) .
26. Use the following calculation: Dimension (Z) - Dimension (Y) = Thickness of shim (47) .
Note: Shim (47) is available in several thicknesses. Select the correct thickness of shim (47) in
order to obtain the correct lift-off limitation. Only one shim (47) should be used.
27. Install springs (46) and shim (47) to bearing assembly (45) .
28. Install bearing assembly (45) to barrel assembly (40) .
29. Install retainer plate (43) with pistons (42) as a unit into barrel assembly (40) .
30. Install barrel assembly (40) .
31. Install retainers (44) and bolts (36) . Apply Tooling (K) to the threads of bolts (45) . Tighten
bolts to 8.5 ± 2.0 N·m (75.0 ± 18.0 lb in).
Note: Bolts (38) must be replaced with new bolts.
32. Install rods (30) and (31) and O-ring seal (32) .
33. Install piston (26) , spring (28) , piston (29) , and spring (27) .
34. Install roller bearing (34) and port plate (35) to head assembly (25) . Use tooling (J) to retain
port plate (35) to head assembly (25) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure

and wear protective equipment.
35. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to head (25) and install head (25) .
36. Install bolts (24) . Torque bolts (24) to 620 N·m (460 lb ft).
37. Use Tooling (A) in order to install retaining clip (33) to shaft (57) .
38. Install impeller (23) . Use Tooling (A) to install retaining ring (22) .
39. Install the O-ring seal, cover (21) and bolts (20) .
40. Install control arm (19) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily
injury.
To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure

and wear protective equipment.
41. Install spool (18) , retainer (17) , spring (16) , retainer (15) , and valve (14) .
42. Install bushing (13) , spring (12) , spool (11) , base (10) , and bolts (9) .
43. Install coil (8) and nut (7) .
44. Install O-ring seals (4) , retainer (5) , and spring (6) .
45. Install valve (3) and bolts (2) .
46. Install plug assembly (1) .
End By: Install the piston pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Piston Pump (Hydraulic Fan)
- Install".

28. Install bearing assembly (45) to barrel assembly (40) .

30. Install barrel assembly (40) .

Note: Bolts (38) must be replaced with new bolts.
