Personality theory is really important in terms of job placement. According to Aamodt

(2015), one of the popular forms of personality assessment, known as the Myers-Briggs Type

Indicator, utilizes four categories proposed by Carl Jung, (Introversion, Sensitive, Feeling and

Judging), in order to help individuals learn how much stimulation is good for their overall mental

health. As in the case of an extreme introvert, if an introverted medical assisting student is placed

in a busy, 500 patient-per-day medical center, he or she may not be able to function well without

having a sever mental disturbance. In some cases, the repercussions of being in the wrong

element such as described previously could be traumatic.

Depending on the personality of the candidate for a specific job they may or may not

succeed. As someone in charge of a large department such as career services, managing both the

client relationships with the university and the personalities of the candidates placed within those

companies can be a nightmare when this idea is not considered. For example, in the state of

Georgia, schools that are accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Colleges and Schools,

(ACICS), schools have to maintain a placement rate of 70% or above for every program that the

school offers in order to continue to be able to offer that program to students and receive federal

financial aid for it. Failure to maintain this goal will result in first a warning and academic

probation, and finally a revoking of the credentials for that program. On the harsher side,

colleges under this accrediting body will risk closure and public embarrassment in all of the
