CURRENT LIMITING DEVICE (CLD)

VIBRATION DAMPERS

PLP DISTRIBUTION HELICAL TIES

CURRENT LIMITING DEVICE (CLD)
CLD is classifed by their nominal discharge
current and high current impulse withstand
capabilities for a waveform of 8/20 μs. Cur-
rents from these standard waveforms will last
from 20 to 30 μs, in actual it’s even worse
when arrester is faced with multiple strokes.
This typical arrester is more adapted on
shielded line application
We tested our product at CESI Lab.
The external gap line arrester has a life expec-
tancy of 20 years and is one time investment
for your distribution line.

PLP-PA CLD installed in coordination with

Metal Oxide Arrester provides the best possi-
ble protection for transformers and line system
medium voltage covered conductor.

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
Window relief SVU is simple and unique technolo-
gy able to prevent damage on SVU from lightning
discharge energy by release pressure in SVU due
to high energy impact. It requires NO additional
product (ground lead, ground rod) functions with
the conductivity of the pole and cross arm.

Manufacturing:
Sophisticated and stricted quality inspection for
varistor material is performed to ensure high quality
of CLD.

KARP INSULATION PIERCING CONNECTOR
vortx vibration dampe
tmCABLE IN MEDIUM VOLTAGE
FOR SPACER
KARP piercing connectors family have been developed to find
a need for tap connections in 15, 25 and 35kV Spacer Cables
without stripping and removing insulation from the conductors
and eliminating the need for weather-proofing and re-insulating,
can be installed in hot line and in any position. KARP connector
is composed of polymer components with resistance to ultravio-
let rays and busbar in copper (piercing type), supported on heli-
coidal springs. This innovative concept of supporting spring
busbar is the greater differential its design, because the springs
act in busbar keeping a permanent contact pressure on the con-
ductors, compensating for any possible diameter variations that
may happen in low quality conductors. KARP connector has its
technical characteristics be watertight and have tightening limit
control through the polymer fuse head. It has the option of the
stirrup for ground safety or for connection to the transformer,
which can be supplied separately or as a kit, connector + stirrup.

PREFORMED Deadend Grip TM
FOR BARE PHASE CONDUCTORS ALUMINIUM ALLOY

PLP’s PREFORMED™ Distribution-Grip Deadends are designed to be applied directly to bare

AAC, AAAC or ACSR conductors. Distribution-Grip Deadends can be applied to AAAC-S covered
conductors, but only after the sheath of the AAAC-S has been removed. Distribution-Grip Dead-
ends must never be applied over the sheath of an AAAC-S type covered conductor.

Distribution-Grip Deadends will hold 100% of the specified Conductor Breaking Load (CBL) when
directly applied to AAC, AAAC and small ACSR conductors.

Manufactured from either aluminium alloy or aluminium coated steel, Distribution-Grip Deadends
offer a unique design that eliminates bolts, nuts, washers and other component parts that may
become lost or damaged during installation or in service. Distribution-Grip Deadends should be
used only on the size and type of conductors for which they are designed.

All Distribution-Grip fittings have colour coded markings to indicate the starting point for application
and to assist in product identification.

for use with covered conductors and tie top ANSI C29.5
or C29.7 compliant insulators only. They are suitable for
use any covered conductor such as Tree Wire or
Spacer Cable.
Semi-Con Plastic Ties are made from a base of clear
PVC with a proprietary black co-extruded outer covering
selected for its superior electrical tracking resistance
properties. Use of this co-extruded material allows
applications on higher voltages and/or more stressful
electrical environments. This material was selected
