Since the 1990´s there has been a lot of changes caused by children. Before the 90´s
teenagers were having kids at a young age, they were getting into trouble with the law, etc.,
but it has decreased since then. You don’t see this as much now as you did back then. There
are still child births at young ages and children are still getting into trouble but it's not like
it used to be. Most of the time there is a reason for this to be happening. There are reasons
these children are getting into trouble and getting pregnant. Studies say that sometimes
these things happen because a parent is absent, there is fighting between the household or
there is something going on with the child, but no one sees it and doesn't know to help.
There have been more male teens to be in jail or get punished than females. Female don’t
get into trouble as much and males do. The article is trying to say that there are reasons for
children to do these things and not go into the right path.

Kids who get in trouble with the law don’t just get a smack on the hand and walk
away. They get punishments as well. They must admit to their crime, replace or pay for
what they have done and work for community service. Once they have done that then they
will go to court and tell the judge what happen and why they did the thing they did. After
being in court they will then get their punishment ordered by the judge. There are people
out there who don’t agree to the way this is done. But this law was made in 1899. This is
how it has been for centuries and in my opinion, I don’t think it should change. If you are
grown enough to break the law, then you are grown enough to pay the consequences.

Over the years they law has changed about juveniles' punishments. There are some
laws that say there should be restrictions to cops when they catch these young people in
the act. People have different opinions about the whole process. Some say they should be
treated differently they should get the same treatment an adult should get, and others say
they should be easier on them because they are young. Some say they shouldn’t be in jail as
long as adults are. There have been several surveys asking these types of questions and
most say they should be in there as long as adults. I all depend on what the juvenile did. If it
is bad, then they should the punishment they deserve but if it was something the little, they
should still get a punishment but not as bad.

Most juvenile crimes are caused by the way they are treated and from racial
comments and views. These crimes are not taken seriously, and parents aren't caring what
their children do. They let them out on the street and kick their children out instead of
helping them. Not all these juveniles come from broken homes. Some come from homes
where there is a mother and father. Both parents are there but don’t pay their child any
attention. Some come from great homes, but they hang out with the wrong people at
school. These kids hang out with the wrong crowd and start on the drugs and when they
run out, they will do anything to get more. If that means to steal or hurt someone just to get
the stuff they want.

In the 2000s they transferred the law to juveniles will get the same punishment as
adult criminals. Studies has found that harsher punishment done work on adult criminals
but if they do the same punishment on juveniles it should work. The juvenile will
understand what they did was wrong, and they will need to pay for what they did. If they
make them do adult punishment such as community service, then they will understand
they it is not okay to hurt your community. they are paying back for what they did threw
work.

Boys and girls, male and females or the same they should be punished the same way.
Neither one should get treated differently because of their gender. They both did the crime
they should both own up to what they did and pay for it. No one should be treated
differently in jail or in prison. They did the crime they pay for the crime. Male, female,
young or old they should still pay for what they did. Even if it was as little as a drinking and
driving to killing someone. It should be treated to the way the law says it should be treated
and both genders should get the punishment the same way.

This article is about rehabitation centers for juveniles. It is not just about the juveniles and
what will be going on in the center, it is also telling the staff members what they should be
doing and what to look for. It is also a study for people to see what is going in these teens
head and why they are doing and causing these crimes. There are data bases and more
studies to explain more of this.

This is a therapist point of view from working with the juveniles. He says when it comes to
working with these juveniles, he lets them choose who they want and most of them chose
him and want him to work with them. He says he was a difficult teenager and understands
the situation these teens come in with. He knows how these teens feel and understands
them. He knows that they need the help. He said therefore he chose to become a therapist,
because he went through the same things he knows what kind of help they will neeed.
