Specif ications
The Di mer Equ i pment Ban k shal I consist of a
m
free-standing, factory assembly o{ rack units
constructed with welded steel framework
members and .125" (3.2mm) standard sized
aluminum alloy cover panels which shall be
secured to the framework assembly with
screws for ease of access. Steel trim pieces
shall be provided for each corner of the com-
plete assembly and between each factory se-
cured modular unit. The finish shall be baked
enameL
Each dimmer space shall consist oJ a pre-
formed steel tray which shall be factory
welded to a complete tray and baffle sub-
assembly secured to the steel framework. The
tray and baffle sub-assemblies shall form a
specially designed funnel" to facilitate the
free flow of air around the dimmers. The {ront
face panel of each sub-assembly shall be lou-
vered f or air intake. The combination of the
"funnels 'and mesh ventilation panels located
on top of each rack shall create a churning
effect which shall maintain the temperature
operating level provided the maxtmum am-
bient room temperature does not exceed
1 04'F (40'C). Forced air ventilation will not be
accepted.
Each individual dimmer tray shall include f ive
factory wired heavy duty f ree-f loating female
jacks to ensure proper seating of the dimmer
module male pins when the dimmer is inserted
into the lray. Two of these jacks shall be prop-
erly sized for line and load and the remaining
three for control.
The complete assembly shall be factory wired
to properly identif ied load and control barrier-
type terminal strips located behind a remove-
able front access panel at the top of each rack
unit. The system shall be designed for 3 phase
4 wire,120/208V, 60 Hz. operation at-
amperes/phase.
The Dimmer Equipment Bank shall not exceed

F. One transfer contactor lo bypass the house-
light controllers and transfer the houselight
dimmers to tull control voltage. The house-
lights shall be instantly switched to full inten-
sity upon energization of any "Panic'switch
in any of the designated locations. The house-
lights shall return to the control of the house-
light conlrollers upon energization of any
"Normal" switch.
G. The main disconnect device as well as any
miscellaneous additional relays and equip-
ment shall be located in a separate power sec-

shall be rendered operative or inoperative by
