PERFORMANCE STANDARD BASED ASSESSMENT

General Mathematics 11.1.1

Performance Standards: Accurately formulates and solve real – life problems

involving rational functions

Performance Task

Goal Your goal is to create an itinerary for a day tour in the Historical
Places of Mandaue City.
Role You are a traveler and you want to know the accurate average time
travelled from one place to another.
Audience The grade 11th students
Situation You need to convince the grade 11th students that traveling is fun
when time and speed are to be considered.
Performanc You will create an itinerary for a day tour in the Historical Places of
e Mandaue City.
Standards Demonstrate understanding on formulating and solving real – real
problems involving rational functions.

Rubrics for Scoring

Score Explanation
5 The student demonstrates an efficient strategy that
enables him/her to solve the problems completely. Have
correct answers to all the questions in the task. All
answers have correct labels (e.g. unit)
A student is able to complete with speed and accuracy.
3 The student demonstrates a strategy that enables
him/her to solve the problem and most questions were
answered correctly. The strategy is somewhat
disorganized making it less efficient. There are solutions
but errors are contained. A student has some difficulty
determining all solutions correctly all determining all
solutions correctly but has an understanding of the
general concepts.
1 The student demonstrates a confused strategy which
makes him/ her find the difficulty in solving the problem.
Most answers are incorrect, but the student demonstrates
knowledge of at least one being assessed.
