My Lesson Plan

LESSON PLAN Subject: English

Trainee: Topic or Theme: Compound sentences

Class: 1-A Date & Duration: 30/3/2020/ 45 minutes

Trainee Personal Goals

In this lesson, I am working on making my learners able to write clear


compound sentences. Also, I will play with the students different
kinds of activities to let them understand how they can write
compound sentences includes and,or and but so I will teach them
how they can use in their sentences. For example, I will ask them
different kinds of question by using powerpoint sliders and ask
students write their answer on the whiteboard.

My goal is to keep my students able to understand the concept of


compound sentences and how they can write their own clear
sentences.

Lesson Focus

On how we can clear compound sentences so in this lesson students


will be able to write their own clearn sentences include and,or and
but. In addition, students will work in different kinds of enjoyable
activities such as, popcorn compound sentences and write their own
sentences with draw a picture. Moreover, I think the learner's
interest while they work in the interesting activities that be more
excited and helpful to them while they apply what they learn with
their teacher through working in the activity.

Lesson Outcomes

Students will be able to write clear compound sentences.

Students will be able to use (or,and,but) in their sentences.

I will make a revision on spelling the words which means I will ask
each group one student to say the letters of the word to their group
and they have to predict the word.

21st Century Skills


Critical thinking: the students were thinking of the sentence what the wrong and how we can fix it. For example,
show them wrong sentences like “I think mathis too easy”. So they should think about what is wrong so they need
to notice that we should make a space between the words.

Explore and Creativity: students work as 2 different groups and the first group they will get popcorn box include
papers so in each paper there is a wrong sentence and each student should write the correct way of the sentence
in their own worksheetinclude and or and but. Also, other group of students will get worksheet about write clear
compound sentences and draw a picture related to what they are write so in this kind of activities let students to
think about what kind of sentence they should write. Also, they will be able to use “and,or, but” in their
sentences.

them an extra worksheet “table of 10” so while they finish their work they should work on it. Lastly, I will assess
their work and watch them while they work in the activities and scaffold the students who need a helper.

Low-level: each student will be given a worksheet and I will give them popcorn box include different kinds of
wrong sentences and each sentence there is a missing word so they should pick one sentence and look at the key
words box which include (and, or, but) and write it in their own sentence .Also, they should fix the sentence if
there is other mistake like end with period or stat with capital letter so they need to write it in correct way in their
worksheet. Then, they have to choose one sentence and draw it.

High-level: Students will be given a worksheet about writing their own compound sentence so they should
write 5 different sentence include (and,or,but). Then, students need to draw a picture related to what they are
draw and color it in nicly way.

Extra activity-(high level students): create spider compound sentence- if the students finish their
work early they will be given a worksheet include spider face with 6 legs and in each leg there is a
wrong sentence so they need to write it in correct way. Then, color the spider in a beautiful way. Lastly,
they should cut the legs out and paste it on the body of the spider.

Notice: there is no middle level of students just high level and low level of learners so there are just to
different worksheet as their level.
Differentiation activities (Stretch)

Such as students use games to understand the concept.

Low level: students will work in Chromebook (laptop) and play a game about write clear sentences.

High-level- each student will be given a worksheet include spider face with 6 legs and in each leg
there is a wrong sentence so they need to write it in correct way. Then, color the spider in a beautiful
way. Lastly, they should cut the legs out and paste it on the body of the spider.
