ABS Rules Pertaining to leak Test &Painting of FULL COATS before

Leak Test
1) Primer coat is always allowed by ABS before leak Test of Tank Boundaries
2) Full coat of Tank Boundaries is also allowed by ABS before Leak Test provided that the Joint
is done by the following WeldingPprocess, see Table 3 below
a) Automatic Welding using SAW
b) Semi-auto welding such as FCAW. In this case, the Surveyor MUST be satisfied with
the integrity of the weld. Refer to Table 3, Note 4 below.

3) Acceptable form of Leak Tests

Note 3 of 3.4.1/Table 1 referred.

4) Vacuum Test is also acceptable to ABS as a form of Leak Test.
