406 SONNET— WHEN I HAVE FEARS THAT I MAY CEASE
TO BE.
— Here on the shores
Of the wide world I stand alone and think
Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.
407 FANCY.
She will bring thee all together,
All delights of summer weather.
408 ODE TO A NIGHTINGALE.
Perhaps the, self-same song that found a path
Through the sad heart of Ruth, when sick for home
She stood in tears amid her alien corn.
The League is indebted to Mess. Yandell & Co. for the use of
leathern screens and hangings.

MITZ, NIKKO, JAPAN. Painted by Theodore
Wares. Lent by the Artist. Price, $2,000.
This forms the last of a series of highly ornamental gates or
arches that memorial temple and tomb of Eyemitz,
lead to the
the grandson of E)evasn, founder of the Tokygama Dynasty of
Shoguns. Successive flights of stone steps lead through the
temple grounds to the tomb, passing through a number of these
magnificent gates. After the last gate and the shrine comes one
final flight, and there, as a crowning point to this magnificence,
the visitor is confronted by a simple, yet dignified, bronze tomb
surrounded by tall and stately eryptomeria trees. This strong
contrast serves to make an impression of profound dignity and
repose which magnificence alone would fail to convey.

I
Advertisements.
i
p members of The Architectural League and
the Profession :
We respectfully call your attention to
a new
and improved method of fitting
buildings for
Electrical Conductors.
The Interior Electrical Conduits
are a new and popu
lar form of insulated pipes,
giving free channels for electrc wires.
This method provides safety from
electrical faults and perfect
access to concealed wires, without
defacing walls and flooring.
The wires can be withdrawn or
inserted as desired.
This system is being placed in the
Union Trust Company — illustrated in building for The
this catalogue — and has
been placed in many prominent
residences and buildings in
New York City and elsewhere
It is the only method that
enables you to plan your
wiring in a manner similar to
gas-piping.

exterior) work, altars, etc. It is also furnished in light green, with
same characteristics.
ALSEN'S
Portland Cement
Is the most uniform and satisfactory PORTLAND CEMENT
made, and is the brand usually employed by the most prom
inent Engineers of this country for concrete both above and
below water. Although higher priced than other Cements, it is
still the most economical, as it will permit the admixture of
more sand than any other. It stands the highest tensile
strength of any cement imported; it is very finely ground, and
there is a greater bulk to the barrel than other brands.
The ALSEN'S has been used in the foundations of some of
the largest structures in this country, such as:
