Wind Energy proves to be Beneficial to the Environment

Fear runs rampid at the thought of running out of sustainable energy in the world today.

Questions arise at the suspicion that one day the world may no longer have the ability to provide

such an extravagant amount of energy. Wind energy, however, offers a safe and cost effective

escape to that fear, some even dare to say that this can begin to be a reliant source for energy in

the present. In the past there has been proof of alternative ways of producing energy rather than

the way it is currently generated. In Georgia’s Tellus Museum, which I visited as a young child,

there stands a house that souly runs off the power of the sun. Solar panels line the roof which

produces the sufficient amount of energy which allows the house to be used as needed. This

house has the needed factors to be a safe and secure home. This example, along with countless

other stories, exemplify the availability of energy that has the power to stem from various

sources.

Unrenewable resources do not last forever, which is where the majority of our energy

originates from in today's world. A possible solution to aid this process so the world does not run

out of energy as quickly is as simple as slowing down energy burnout. Wind turbines offer a

different approach to the game of electricity. Wind does not stop, therefore, it serves as a

renewable resource; we will not run out of it. Through the implication and encouragement of

turning to wind energy, the United States has a possibility to savor their resources. By doing so
Americans could substantially decrease the amount of waste produced by coal and natural gas.

With focus placed on wind energy doors open for more “independence” ;since wind is free and

there is no need to rely on other countries for the amount of wind produced, the states would gain

this new freedom (SourceB).

In the world today the media constantly floods the community with statements about the

environment being infiltrated with waste, but they are rarely accompanied by recommendations

on how to fix the problem. Wind avoids the production of various chemicals and harmful

residues released into the environment, unlike its opponent, coal, which produces “CO2 and

Nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere”, causing our o-zone layer to weaken (Source B). Some

people fight so vigorously to “save the environment”, which is so quickly destroyed when we

misuse energy.

America is known for taking the easy, most ideal way through several issues, so why not

do the same for our energy source as well? Wind energy is the most efficient energy form and

does not cost that much more than coal (Source F). Concerns have been suggested that “sleep

disruption” is a major issue when it comes to wind turbines, and only gets worse with the closer

you live (Source C). A refute to that concern is that after a given amount of time the human body

adapts to its surrounding stimuli, so once given time, considering one lives close enough to be

bothered, their body will adapt, just as one does when they live near train tracks.

Wind energy would offer plentiful benefits to the society of American. Instead of

constantly worrying about the reliance on other countries, the environment, and the economy, let

the citizens step up and put a stop to these anxious thoughts. Wind turbines that produce energy

from wind have a solution for all of these waivering anxieties. Make the smarter choice,
especially in the things that involve the ability to turn on the lights not only in one room, but in a

whole country.
