This lesson is done with myself in the lead position and the students observing yet still partaking in the conversation. I have it set up this way as

Students will come and sit on the carpet and face the promethean board
I will lead a discussion about our class trip to the pumpkin patch 
I will remind students of the pumpkins that the farmer showed them on the hayride and see what the students can remember from the mini­
lesson given by the farmer about the pumpkin life cycle
I will play the story Pumpkin Jack for the students on youtube, asking questions periodically about predictions and what is happening in the
story
When the story is over I will lead a discussion about the pumpkins journey in the story, what happened in the fall, in the summer,  in the
winter, in the spring and in the fall again.
Procedure during this conversation i will introduce some of the vocabulary to the students that the students will be using
Next i will bring the pumpkin over to the table in front of the students and explain to the students that we are going to disect the pumpkin and
turn him into a jack­o­lantern
I will cut the pumpkin open and pull out the insided letting students see the various parts of the pumpkin such as the seeds and the pulp.
I will show the students the skin and the flesh of the pumpkin.
Next i will carve the pumpkins face
Students will get turns to come up and look at the pumpkin up close
Students will take their worksheets and go back to their seats to complete their worksheets
when students finish their worksheets they may go on their ipads.
