Special Populations Philosophy

Special population in school is everyone, its your color, race, age, occupation,
sex, and even if your old or young. This defines you as a person and every student.

Multicultural Education refers to any form of education or teaching, now day its
amazing all the different ways used to teach a student a material. Teachers are getting
very creative in how they are teaching each lesson and getting them to interact and most
importation to participate during the lecture.

There are several at risk factors at make a student want to drop out of school. One
of these reasons are when a girl gets pregnant. Her being pregnant at sure a early age can
become difficult for her to continue school. Or if they do stay in school there may be a
point when its to hard for them to be a mom and also have to do school that they drop
out. I can’t imagine being a young mom and still a student and having to give me %100
on both.

Another reason would be if the student or their family is homeless. If that’s the
case how hard that would be, for them to go to school. Its very sad that there several
families with this being an everyday struggle for them, and this being the situation they
are in. In the future I would like to help the community and this families that are like this.
I would love to form a group in our school district to help those people in need, and most
important those children at that not getting the education that they deserve.

Children at English is their second language are also at risk to drop out, because it
much harder for them when English is not their first language. I’m one of those students
at English is not my first language, and I’ve had may ups and downs. I know how hard it
can be. I find myself having to read and read instructions because till this day I struggle,
and dropping out is an easy way out because I’ve though of it, but I know it won’t do me
any good so here I may writing this paper and as a future teacher I know I’ll be able to
help my students and their at this point, and will be able to guide them in choose their
decision.

There several reason for a student to drop out, I hope and believe that as time
passes there will be better ways and opportunities for the students to change their mines
before committing to something.
