International Student Center
The Han center which means great
will support and help Korean
students and other international
students in the United States.
Hanok is a Korean traditional
house. Students can communicate,
share the cultures with other
international students, and
contribute to the local area by
the activities in this center. The
target users of this building are
college students. To attract
them, the style of the building
will be a mixture of modern and
traditional Hanok styles.
INSPIRATION IMAGES
At Han center students can relax
and be relieved of problems like
being homesick and stresses
from school. Korean traditional
ceramic ware and other features
of traditional objects of Korea
will be used with changed shape
in furniture, floor materials, and
wall tiles. This building is a wing
of the church. It is managed by
the church and volunteer church
members serve the students.
The Han center will be a great
supportive place in the church
for Korean students and other
students living in Oklahoma.

The concept of the building
is aurora, which is a reaction
of sun's electrons and air
molecules of the Earth. The
reaction makes a new beautiful
thing. Why do people go and
travel to Iceland? Because they
want to get away from daily
life and get a new energy by
seeing beautiful and amazing
scenes of nature. After visiting
Iceland, they bring back those
experiences and memories. They
create aurora in their own minds
with the beautiful memories and
new mindset.
INSPIRATION IMAGES
Like aurora, the building has a
beautiful curve shape and layers.
Aurora is not just made of one
layer. It shines with several layers.
The building is a two-story building,
which like the aurora has several
layers. It has a shape that overlaps
the first and second stories. The
first floor is the common area and
the second floor is for guest rooms.
Curved walls and floors are used in
the building. The major materials
are nature friendly and simple for
making focus on stunning view of
Iceland stand out to users.

Mid-Scale Hotel Project
The hotel name is M.O.H Hotel.
M.O.H is the abbreviation of ‘My
Only Hope.’ The name is came from
the movie Sleepless in Seattle. One of
the characters calls her lover
‘M.O.H’, which means my only hope.
This hotel is located at Seattle,
so it is a meaningful name. The
target is young couple, since
Seattle is an attractive place to
have fun with a lover for some
reason. First, Seattle has good
transport links like monorail, link
light rail, the Seattle street car,
and buses. Some couples want to
use transportation rather than
have rental car for saving their
money. In that way, Seattle is
easy to get anywhere.
INSPIRATION IMAGES
Second, even though Seattle is
a big city, it also has beautiful
landscapes. The design concept is
‘You are only hope and the light.’
As Seattle has 90% rainy days in
the year, most days are gloomy.
However, young couples can think
they are happy because of their
partner even though it is a dark
place. They can focus on each
other more. Most walls are dark
gray, and light fixtures have rain
falling shapes. However, bright
colors are applied at the seating
area where people stay. By this
application, young couples can be
focused on each other, and they
can think, ‘You are the light and
hope.’

and building blocks of the map,
and the corridor is like a road. By
putting the things that are used
in the navigation map, it gives an
interesting feeling. The major
materials of the interior of the
building are wood and brick. It
helps people to feel homey and
cozy. For the increasing of the
workers, the various options of
work type and flexibilities are
considered in the space.

a hard life or had gone through
hard things. The people who are
living in here deserve the best.
Like people feel better when
they are in a good place, a newly
renovated design will give people
that feeling. For giving a feeling
like fancy space, beautiful
ornaments are used. The colors
are chosen with bright and joyful
color. Many materials are natural
materials like stone and wood.
The space planning is changed
for using it efficiently.

PRODUCT DESIGN
THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT

"Populations of the once-common iconic black and orange butterfly (the Monarch) have plummeted
by approximately 90 percent in just the last two decades."
Design concept is a journey of a monarch butterfly caterpillar. The target of the product design
is children for their education. Bright color and lovely designs are used in the design for grabbing
their interest.
