Source: The Music Connection K

Materials needed:
• Put Your Finger in the Air by Rainbow Songs

Procedure:

A.S: What are some parts of your body? Can you touch *body part named*
with your finger

1. Ask children to stand and act like their feet are stuck in cement. Encour-
age them to explore the space around them by “touching” the air in many
different places; for example, above their heads, behind their backs, by
their feet, and at their sides.
2. Sings the verse once again as the children use their fingers to touch the air
everywhere in their personal space.
3. Invite the children to experiment with putting other parts of the body “in
the air.” They might use their elbows, knees, feet, and so on, to explore
their personal space.

Closure:
1. Have the students move around in a circle and move their finger where
the song tells them. Try to have the students tap the body part to the beat
of the song.

Educational Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will have learned . . .
