With the transfer degree, you may be given a slight GPA bump when applying to an impacted
CSU campus or impacted major that is deemed similar to the AA-T/AS-T you received.
Once at the CSU, if you are admitted and enrolled in a designated similar degree program you
have the opportunity to complete your bachelor’s degree with as little as 60 semester units or
90 quarter units of coursework.

SUMMER BRIDGE:
Summer Bridge is designed to help new students become familiar with and have exposure to college
life before they begin in fall. It provides the opportunity for new students to learn about important
campus resources and college life, all while getting acquainted with faculty and staff. Students will
be introduced to meta-majors, career exploration, financial aid and the CC Promise Grant. It’s an
excellent way to begin your college experience.
LEARNIN G COMMUNITIES:

GCC’s Learning Communities are designed to help provide support and guidance to our students,
to encourage opportunities for campus involvement, develop students’ personal characters, foster a
sense of belonging and to help students build community. We work in collaboration with departments
across campus to increase students’ personal, academic, and career success. The learning communities
provide a safe space for students to come in and ask questions, celebrate cultural diversity, meet other
students and create meaningful relationships.

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a program that offers students collaborative learning workshops outside of class times. Under the
supervision of an instructor or specially trained student leader, these workshops provide students with an enjoyable, structured
way to study the course material and develop critical thinkng and problem-solving skills. Regular workshop participants usually
reach a better understanding of a course content and tend to pass at a higher rate and with better grades than non-participants.
The workshops are free to students.
Sections of the following courses offer SI workshops: please refer to the specific listings in the online class schedule to find the
appropriate section and the day and time of the workshops or check with the SI Program Coordinator.
Workshop schedules are subject to change. Additional times and days may be added the first few weeks of classes. Other courses
may have SI workshops which are not scheduled yet. Check with your counselor or call the SI Program Coordinator at (818) 240-

WHAT IS A CA College Promise Grant - CCPG?
The CCPG* is formerly known as the BOG Fee Waiver. The CCPG is a grant provided by the State of
California for students who have been California residents for more than one year. Eligible students will have
their units paid for if eligible for the CCPG. Students who are required to pay non-resident tuition do not
qualify. NOTE: Students who do not meet GCC Standards of Scholarship may lose eligibility to use
their CCPG.
PLAN AHEAD!
Do not wait until you want to register to apply. Students may be dropped for non-payment of fees. If you
have already filed your 2019-2020 FAFSA or 2019-2020 CA Dream Act Application (for AB540 students) you
may not need to complete this form. Check your financial aid records on MyGCC to determine if you have
already been awarded a CCPG and do not need to submit this form.
There are three ways to qualify for a CCPG. You only need to be eligible for one.
** METHOD A: Provide documentation of TANF/Cal Works, SSI, or General Relief benefits you
receive. If you are considered dependent, you must provide proof of the benefits
your parents are receiving. Acceptable documentation includes:
◆Copy of current or prior month’s benefit check or
◆Current or prior month’s bank statement showing direct deposit
of TANF/Cal Works, GR or SSI funds or
◆Current or prior month’s eligibility letter or
◆GCC Untaxed Income Verification Form completed by the agency or
◆Other official agency verification
Only Method A recipients receive discounted health fees and parking rates.
** METHOD B: Provide income and household size information by completing the Method B
Enrollment Fee Waiver section of the CCPG application. All income information
must be complete and accurate. You may be asked to provide tax returns or other
verifying documents.
METHOD C: If you don’t qualify for Method A or B, you may qualify for a CCPG under Method C
by completing the 2019-2020 FAFSA or 2019-2020 CA Dream Act Application (for
AB540 students) and listing GCC (001203) as one of the colleges you want to
receive your information.
* The official name for CCPG is California College Promise Grant.
** Students who receive CCPG A or CCPG B may qualify for EOPS. Contact the EOPS Office regarding eligibility.
The California Domestic Partner Rights and Responsibilities Act extends rights, benefits, responsibilities and obligations to individuals in domestic
partnerships registered with the California Secretary of State under Section 297 of the Family Code. If you are in a Registered Domestic Partnership
(RDP), or legal same sex marriage, you will be treated as an Independent married student to determine Enrollment Fee Waiver eligibility and will need
to provide income and household information for your domestic partner. If you are a dependent student and your parent is in a Registered Domestic
Partnership, or legal same sex marriage, you will be treated the same as a student with married parents and income and household information will be
required for the parent’s domestic partner.
Note: These provisions apply to state student financial aid ONLY, and not to federal student financial aid.
Are you or your parent in a Registered Domestic Partnership with the California Secretary of State under Section 297 of the Family Code? (Answer
“Yes” if you or your parent are separated from a Registered Domestic Partner but have NOT FILED a Notice of Termination of Domestic
Partnership with the California Secretary of State’s Office.) Yes No
If you answered “Yes” to the question above, treat the Registered Domestic Partner as a spouse. You are required to include your domestic
partner’s income and household information or your parent’s domestic partner’s income and household information in Questions 4, 11, 12,
13, 14, 15, 16, 17.

parental information is needed. If you answer “Yes” to ANY of the questions 1-10 below, you will be considered an INDEPENDENT student. If
you answer “No” to all questions, you will be considered a Dependent student thereby reporting parental information and should continue with
