“My Geometry Dictionary”
Sort Polygons Do Now
Pre-lesson assignments and/or prior knowledge:
Know types of angles: acute, obtuse, right, straight
Know types of triangles: acute, obtuse, right, isosceles, scalene, equilateral
Know polygon terms: similar, congruent, corresponding, and proportional
Practice with classifying angles, classifying triangles, and similar and
congruent figures
Lesson Beginning:
Do Now: Sort Polygons
o Look at both groups. What do you notice?
o Why do you think the figures are sorted this way? What makes a
figure a polygon?
