The IDP process provides an opportunity for staff to plan for and reflect on individual goals and
their professional development. It is also an important component of a continuous professional
development process that can be undertaken by all employees regardless of their current position
or future career plans.
The aim of using an IDP is that staff take responsibility of their their own learning and professional
development and to have structured and clear plan.This guide will provide information on how to
develop an IDP , the description of the process and development options that can be used in the
plan
