To Whom It May Concern, March 2020

I take extreme pride in providing this letter of recommendation for Miss. Emma
Jenkins, as I have come to know her in many different facets. As such, I feel
equipped to paint the absolute best picture of who Miss. Jenkins is as a person, and as
a student.

I first came to know MIss. Emma Jenkins as a caregiver. I was in need of a sitter for
my two young children and she came highly recommended. Upon meeting Emma, my
children were smitten. She took great care in giving them each her undivided attention.
As a mother, I won't leave my children with just anyone. The caregiver must be
trustworthy, dependable and loving. That is, without question, Emma Jenkins. She is the
polite, kind-hearted, articulate example I want my children surrounded by. Emma does
everything and anything to entertain my children and keep them safe. Some of their
favorite activities to do with her are kickball, crafts and decorating cupcakes. As a
matter of fact, you will never hear sighs of sadness in my home when my children
are told that “MIss. Emma will be over this weekend.” Instead, there are cheers all
around! This reaction certainly speaks to the bond she has built with my children in just
two short years. They trust her and know that she has their best interest at heart.

Another instance I have had the opportunity to observe Emma in is my own classroom.
I am a fifth grade teacher and Emma has been my VTFT (Virginia Teachers for
Tomorrow) student intern for the year. In true Emma fashion, she jumped right in on
day one. Without any direction from me, she immediately identified students who needed
help during my lesson and assisted them. But, that’s just who Emma is-- a born leader.
Intrinsically she knows what needs to be done, and she does it. As a 15-year teaching
veteran, I have had many student interns. None of them have ever lived up to the bar
that Emma has set. Emma is mature beyond her years, and needs little direction. She
has an unmatched connection with my students and takes them as they are. Her desire
to help them be the best versions of themselves is just as important to her as it is to
me. Moreover, watching her learn new things and teach a younger generation is
refreshing,

It is without reservation that I highly recommend Miss. Emma Jenkins for your
program, learning opportunity or scholarship. Selecting her would be a credit to your
establishment.

Respectfully,

Lauren Gibson
