1. Implement the logical OR operation by using switch, battery and a source of light. Also write truth

22. An electrical control system uses three positional sensing devices, each of which produce 1 output
when the position is confirmed. These devices are to be used in conjunction with a logic network of

are producing signals of 1. Find the following:

ii. Standard SOP expression.
iii. Simplified SOP expression.
iv. Logic diagram for the simplified expression.

23. Suppose that we wish to design a logic circuit with two inputs 𝑥1 and 𝑥2 . Assume that 𝑥1 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑥2
represent the states of the two switches, either of which may be open (0) or closed (1). The required
functional behavior of this circuit is that the output must be equal to '0' if the switch 𝑥1 is closed and
𝑥2 is open; otherwise, the output must be 1.
Find the following:
i. Truth table.
ii. Standard SOP expression.
iii. Simplified SOP expression.
iv. Logic diagram for the simplified expression.

24. Suppose that we wish to design a logic circuit with three inputs 𝑥1 , 𝑥2 and 𝑥3 . Assume that
𝑥1 , 𝑥2 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑥3 represent the states of the three switches, either of which may be open (0) or closed (1).
The required functional behavior of this circuit is that which produces an output value 1 whenever
exactly one or two of the input variables have the value 1; otherwise, the output has to be 0.
Find the following:
i. Truth table.
ii. Standard SOP expression.
iii. Simplified SOP expression.
iv. Logic diagram for the simplified expression.
