As I just mentioned, Cold Turkey allows you to block distracting websites or applications until a
certain time, rather than a specific length of time. So if you know you’re going to write until 12
pm, for example, you can set up a timer for writing by first choosing the websites and
applications you want to block, and then setting your timer by first choosing the hour and then
the minutes. I like this because if you do want to work until a specific time, you don’t have to
figure out how long you’ll be working like you do with FocusMe.

As their name implies, Locategy has particularly strong location and geofencing services. The
application, however, lacks some of the more desirable filtering and monitoring features possessed by
other providers we evaluate. Locategy does not filter websites per se, but allows parents to specify types
of sites they don't want their children visiting and blocks them entirely. Monitoring services do not
include texts (SMS), which is the most common way children communicate. Similarly, with apps, calls,
and websites, Locategy can only report on when and how long children were active, not the details of
what they were doing. Locategy does provide app blocking and usage scheduling. Its geofencing services
are under the guise of "places" in the app. Parents are able to set 150 meter boundaries and receive alerts
when their child enters or leaves the area.

Locatology offers a free version that you can download from the app store or Google Play. In terms of
geofencing, the free version only allows two places. Also, it only provides activity reports for five days
worth of activity (web browsing, calls, app usage and location). The free version only has the capacity to
block one app as well.
Customers have a choice to upgrade to three different "Premium" plans through the app itself. Pricing is
estimated as the quotes are in Euros. All of these packages offer the same monitoring, filtering, location
services, and usage control features, and only differ in the amount of devices the customer can use.
Locategy allows 3, 5, and 10 devices depending on the plan. These devices can be split between
parents/caregivers and children. For example with 10 devices, you can split it between 3 adult monitors
and 7 children. This is a little clunky as many of the providers we cover allow unlimited devices and
users.

Based in Spain, Locategy has no presence on the BBB or Trustpilot. There is also a dearth of consumer
reviews online. Locategy, however, was favorably reviewed by PC Magazine in 2018. The app only
works over mobile device and does not offer features for PC or Mac at this time.
