Punjab School Education Board

SAHIBZADA AJIT SINGH NAGAR (MOHALI)

PSEB 12th Class Result 2010-2011: Punjab School Education Board has regularly updates its
website (www.pseb.ac.in) to declare the results for the exams held on regularly basis. The script
has made especially for this purpose to get immediate result. So candidates need only the roll
number to know the result.

The Punjab School Education Board came into existence through a legislative enactment in November
1969 for the development and promotion of school education in the state of Punjab. The scope of
Board’s functions is very wide and covers almost every aspect/stage of school education. However, a
brief account of functions, structure and activities of the Board is enumerated as below:

Examination Branch, Publication Branch and Administration/Accounts Branch. These branches control
various activities and functions of the Board.

THE PUNJAB SCHOOL EDUCATION BOARD ACT 1969,


(AMENDMENT) ACT, 1987, (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2000,
and (AMENDMENT) ACT 2005

[Received the assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 25 th November, 1969 and first published in the
Punjab Govt. Gazette (Extraordinary), Legislative Supplement, Part I, of the 28th November, 1969.* The
amendment Act of 1987 received the assent of the PSEB 12th Class Result Governor of Punjab on the
17th April, 1987 and first published in the Punjab Govt. Gazette (Extraordinary), Legislative Supplement,
Part I, of the 22nd April, 1987.** The amendment Act of 2000 received the assent of the Governor of
Punjab on the 6th April, 2000 and first published in the Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary),
Legislative Supplement, Part I, of the 10th April, 2000 and ***the amendment act of 2005 received the
assent of the Governor of Punjab on the 29th November, 2005 and first published in the Punjab
Government Gazette ( Extraordinary ), Legislative Supplement , Part I, of the 7th December, 2005.

Functions Of The Board


1. To make necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of public examination at school
level .At present the Board conducts public examinations at Middle, Matriculation and
Senior Secondary Level.
2. To prescribe the curriculum, courses of studies and text books for school education. PSEB
12th Class Result. The Board has a full-fledged academic wing, having subject experts in
all the major subjects. The main responsibility of this wing is to prepare and revise the
syllabuses regularly and then prepare text books accordingly.
3. To arrange for the preparations, compilation, improvement, publication, printing and sale
of text books.
4. To make necessary arrangements for affiliations of schools to the Board
5. To make efforts to bring about qualitative improvement in school education.
6. To act as an advisory body to the state Govt. regarding School Education. this Act.

Quality Education And Development Programs

A special cell to promote quality education in the schools and to organize various educational
development programmes has been set up in the Board. PSEB 12th Class Result The Board has also
established ten Adarsh Schools since 1979 in order to provide quality education in the rural areas,
on the direction of the Punjab Government.

Open School System

The Board has introduced Open School system in the state to provide Non-formal Education to the
students who have not been able to get formal education at Middle, Secondary and Senior
Secondary level. Students adopting this method of education are imparted guidance through various
study centers. Quality study material prepared by the experts of the Board is provided to these
students.

Term of office of Chairman, Vice- Chairman and members


1. The term of office of the Chairman and Vice- Chairman shall be three years from
date of publication of the notification under sub-section of section 4, which may
further be extended for a period of two years: PSEB 12th Class Result Provided that no
person appointed as Chairman or Vice-Chairman shall continue as such, beyond the
age of sixty-two years.

2. The term of office of a nominated member shall be two years from the date of his
nomination, which may further be extended for a period of two years.

3. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (I),the term of office of an officer


of the State Government, sent on deputation, as Chairman or Vice-Chairman shall
be such, as may be fixed by the State Government, PSEB 12th Class Result but it shall
in no case, exceed three years.
