Where are the electrodes placed for a 12-lead ECG?

The limb electrodes record the first 6 leads, and the electrical
activity is measured in the coronal plane. The leads include Leads I-
III, aVR, aVL and aVF.

The chest electrodes record the remaining 6 leads, which is

measured in the transverse plane. The leads include V1-6.

The following table shows the spatial orientation of each lead and
its respective view of the heart.
