Dear Mr. Devasary,

We would like to answer the questions of your customer as follows:

1. We suggested the mostly used filter element shape in nitric acid plants; if another shape,
e. g. flanged candles, is required we would need the tube sheet drawing as already pointed
out.
2. 100 % of the particles> 0,9 microns are separated; for details: see information V 2.92 E.
3. The cleaning frequency depends on the pressure drop increase under working conditions
and varies from plant to plant. The cleaning after 3600 hours could be the right frequency
for desired operation in customer's plant.
4. For start-up pressure drop of the elements: please see enclosed technical information
no. 17/Jan.99.The end pressure drop has to be determined by the customer under energy
aspects (blower e.g.) and defines the cleaning time.
5. The life time of ceramics is infinite. The operational time is defined from start-up until
closing/blocking and depends on the working conditions in the plant; the average operational
time of our elements in the ammonia-air-mixture gas application in nitric acid plants varies
from 3 to 8 years.
6. We assume that MOC stands for Means Of Compliance (and not for Maintenance Operational
Check): Each element is tested in our works before shipment (not only random sampling is
made, not testing of some pieces only out of a bigger quantity): regarding dimensional
accuracy, clear sound, strength (e. g. cross-bending strength, e. g. elements with hair-cracks
are rejected) etc.
7. The delivery period for around 700 pieces would be 12 - 14 weeks.
