’Getting Going with Autograph’ Activity

‘Object Selection’ – Single Points

Open a 2D Graph page (Standard Level)

‘Enter Equation’ y = x²

In ‘Point Mode’ add a point at (3 , 2).

Still in ‘Point Mode’ move the cursor


towards (1 , 1) and when the cursor changes
from a small cross to a bold arrow click to
attach a point to the graph.

Select only the point at (3 , 2). Use the


keyboard arrow keys to move it around the
grid. Try holding the ‘Shift’ and/or ‘Ctrl’ keys

With the single point at (3 , 2) selected


use the ‘Object Menu’ (also obtained from a
right click) to attach the following to the
point:
Horizontal Line
Vertical Line
Gradient Line
Vector
Circle as shown opposite

Delete all the ‘objects’ just added (this


can be done by ‘select then delete’ or using
the ‘Rub Out’ tool)

Now ‘Select’ the point at (1 , 1) and


attach the same objects as above plus:
Tangent
Normal as shown opposite.

Change the ‘Snap Settings’ to 0.1

With only the point (1 , 1) selected use


the keyboard arrows to move the point
around the graph
