Materials and tools.

 Iris Crochet thread by Gamma in Yellow and Green (for the pictured
sample, Green ombre has been used as additional color for arms and legs) +
colors of choice for the petals. It doesn’t matter which ones – anything at
hand. Working all petals in White makes a pretty daisy.
 Black sewing thread or embroidery floss for embroidering the eyebrows.
 Crochet hook 1 mm [US steel hook 12].
 Glass toy eyes, diameter 4.5 mm [0.2 in] (in the pictured sample, glue-on
plastic eyes have been used).
 Wire, thickness 0.3 – 0.5 mm.
 Stuffing (polyester fiberfil).
 Scissors and sewing needle.
 Rip-resistant thread for cinching. (I used sturdy sewing thread held double.)
 For blushing – watercolors or dry pastel chalk.
 Glue for attaching eyes (optional).
 Adhesive bandage or electrical tape.

the decrease by skipping 1 st instead of crocheting 2 together, since this is

 inc – increase (2 sc worked into the same stitch = with a shared base and

separate tops)
 sc – single crochet (US) = double crochet (UK)
 sl-st – slip stitch

The whole toy is worked in spiral rounds; numbers in parenthesis (xx) at the end
of the round show the total stitch count after completion of this round.

Head, in Yellow, worked with inside facing out:

1. 6 sc into an AMR.
2. 12 inc
3. (1 sc, inc) 6 times (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) 6 times (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) 6 times (30)
6. (4 sc, inc) 6 times (36)
7. (5 sc, inc) 6 times (42)
8. (6 sc, inc) 6 times (48)
9. 48 sc
Attach new working yarn in Green, and work 1 round through the front
loop of the stitch only:

Stuff the head of the flower firmly with fiberfil. Glue on eyes. Embroider the nose
and eyebrows. Insert the wire frame into the head, as shown in photo by the red
dashed line.
4

Work petals directly onto the stitches of Round 10 of the head:

Begin with ch6, then, beginning into the 2nd stitch from the hook, work 5 sc down
along the chain, then 1 sc into the stitch at the head located next to the first
stitch.
Now, turn work, and continue as follows on the other side: 4 sc up the chain, then
3 sc into the same stitch, then 5 sc to the end, in the direction towards the begin
of the petal, and join with 1 sl-st into the stitch at the head located next to the
first stitch.
See more about this method in the video here. Place petals 1 stitch apart from
each other, i.e. when beginning the next petal, count off 2 sts from the end of the
previous petal, and work the chain into the 3rd stitch. You should have a total of
12 petals.

opening closed. The wire protrudes from the center.

Body, in Green, worked from the top down; do not cinch the
Adjustable Magic Ring too much. Keep the beginning tail long enough to be
later used for sewing head and body together.
1. 6 sc into an AMR
2. (2 inc, sc) 2 times (10)
3. (4 sc, inc) 2 times (12)
4. 12 sc
5. (3 sc, inc) 3 times (15)
6. 15 sc
7. (4 sc, inc) 3 times (18)
8. (2 sc, inc) 6 times (24)
9. 24 sc
Now, the body can be sewn onto the head. Stick the protruding wire
through the center of the Magic Ring, and sew the head onto the body over
several stitches.
Bend the end of the wire onto itself.

Now, continue as follows:

All r i g h
10. (3 sc, inc) 6 times (30)
11. – 13. 30 sc
14. (4 sc, inc) 6 times (36 sc)
15. 36 sc
16. (4 sc, 1 dec) 6 times (30)
17. (3 sc, 1 dec) 6 times (24)
18. (2 sc, 1 dec) 6 times (18)
19. (1 sc, 1 dec) 6 times (12)
20. Stuff the body with fiberfil, work 6 decreases, and crochet the opening
closed.

Legs, in Green, make 2:

1. 6 sc into an AMR
2. (1 sc, inc) 3 times (9)
3. 9 sc
4. 8 sc, inc (10)
5. – 8. (4 rounds) 10 sc
9. (4 sc, inc) 2 times (12)
10 – 12. (3 rounds) 12 sc
13. (3 sc, inc) 3 times (15)
14. 15 sc
15. (3 sc, 1 dec) 3 times (12)
At this point, insert wire into the leg; I have not stuffed the legs, but if you
want, you can add just a little bit of fiberfil.
Work 6 decreases, and crochet the opening closed.
The crocheted leg is longer than the final length – it will be bent into an S-
shape.

If you want to work the leg without a wire frame and without the bending,
it needs to be crocheted overall shorter, using the following instructions:
1. 6 sc into an AMR
2. (1 sc, inc) 3 times (9)
3. 9 sc
4. 8 sc, inc (10)
5. – 7. 10 sc
8. (4 sc, inc) 2 times (12)
9. – 11. 12 sc
12. 6 dec
7

Arms, in Green, make 2:

1. 5 sc into an AMR
2. inc, 4 sc (6)
3. 4 sc, inc, sc (7)
4. 7 sc
5. (2 sc, inc) 2x , sc (9)
6. – 9. (4 rounds) 9 sc
10. (2 sc, inc) 3 times (12)
Rnds 11. and 12. – 12 sc each
At this stage, insert the piece of
wire with which to bend the arms
into an S-shape.
13. Work 6 decreases, and crochet
the opening closed.
Join the little flower stuffie using the thread joint
method. This video explains the method. Sew the parts
together using the remaining yarns tails from the arms
and legs.
Tint the cheeks with watercolor or chalk pastels.
