Q.1 Consider an electric field that is given by E = (4/ρ)aρ + 5az. (i) Find the unit vector aE in Cylindrical
components at (5, 100,1), (ii) Also find out the equation of the surface on which ǀEǀ = 6.

Q.2 (i) A line charge ρL over a ring of radius ‘a’ meter is lying in xy-plane at z =0. Find electric field intensity at
any point on the z- axis.
(ii) A uniform line charge of 10 nC/m is lying along z –axis. Find E and D at ρ =3m.

Q.3 Find the total charge inside each of the volumes indicated.
(a)ρv = 10z2 e-0.1x sinπy, -1 < x < 2, 0 < y < 1,3 < z < 3.6.

Q.4 Define displacement flux. Define volume charge density & divergence. And obtain volume charge density ρ v at

Q.12 State and prove Gauss’s Law. Also state the conditions to be satisfied by the special Gaussian surface.

statement.

Q.13 Explain the concept of divergence by using Gauss Law. Prove divergence theorem and obtain Maxwell’s
1st equation.

Using Gauss’s law for differential volume element prove that div D=ρv.
OR
Derive point form of gauss’s law relates the flux leaving any closed surface to the charge enclosed.

Q.14 For a coaxial cable find the electric field density inside the inner core, in between inner and outer core and
outside the cable.

Apply Gauss’s law for finding electric field for some symmetric charge Distribution.
