1. Grunt – (of an animal, especially a pig) make a low, short guttural


sound.
2. Gazed – look steadily and intently, especially in admiration,
surprise, or thought
3. Dew-dampness – embun
4. Elbowed – strike (someone) with one's elbow.
5. Rammed – roughly force (something) into place.
6. Sank – go down below the surface of something, especially of a
liquid; become submerged.
7. Earlope – the soft, fleshy lower part of the external ear.
8. Frond – the leaf or leaflike part of a palm, fern, or similar plant.
9. Flickered – make small, quick movements; flutter rapidly.
