community that could help our students and their families.

Long Beach Community Action Partnership

Who are they?

LBCAP is a member of the national nonprofit organization, Community Action


Partnership, that provides resources to improve communities and enhance
opportunities.
What services are offered?
Free Tax Returns

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers assistance to


taxpayers with disabilities, who speak limited English, and make
$56,000 or less

Energy Assistance

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) provides utility assistance


and a “weatherization” program.

The SCE Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESAP) provides discounts


on your SCE bill and some replacement services
Youth Programs
Leadership Academy Mentoring Program (LAMP) offers skill
development and education to youth ages 14-24 in the following
disciplines:

● Film/TV production
● Graphic design/silk screening
● Music Production
● Photography

PADNET

Public Access Digital Network offers media training, professional


video equipment, a high-definition studio and low-cost video
production services.

Youth Program PADNET


Casa Youth Shelter

What is Casa Youth Shelter?

CYS is a nonprofit organization located in Los Alamitos providing temporary


shelter for youth aged 12-17 who are homeless, abused, or maybe be dealing with
a crisis.
What services are offered?
Counseling
Counselors meet with residents upon arrival to evaluate their needs
and create a plan for them to successfully leave the shelter.
● Individual Counseling
● Group Counseling
● Family Counseling
● Aftercare Counseling

Case Management
This program includes a service plan for clients and their families with
on-going support which includes a complete assessment. Case
managers ensure that goals and objectives are being met.
Parenting Classes
Classes are provided to offer families strategies to prevent a crisis or for
intervention. This 12 week curriculum is offered in English and Spanish
and will cost no more than $10 per session.

Community Outreach
Outreach presentations can be booked for schools. Workshop topics include:

About CIL:

CIL is a community-based social service organization offering subsidized childcare


and parent education for low income families in Long Beach and Signal Hill.
Subsidized Preschool Program:
Preschool and Before/After School

The preschool program is offered for ages 2-5 while the


before/after school program serves children 5-13.

Each program serves free daily meals that include breakfast, lunch,
and a snack.

Parent Education

Classes are offered free of charge to parents who wish to be


involved in their children’s education. Workshops cover issues of
early childhood education and how to best meet their
developmental needs.
