Joncryl® OH-functional Basonol® HPE

acrylic resins hyperbranched polyesters

Joncryl® polyol grades are hydroxyfunctional acrylic co-polymers for solvent-based For environmental and workers’ protection in 2K PU coatings, low to medium solid
coatings. They can be used as binders for crosslinking with polyisocyanates such solvent-borne systems can be substituted by high solids solvent-borne systems. Two
as Basonat® or in combination with other binder chemistries to improve performance options to achieve high solid content are reducing the molecular weight of polyols
at reduced VOC levels. Especially in combination with Basonol® HPE, outstanding and reducing the glass transition temperature. To leverage the full potential of these
coatings performances in low VOC systems can be achieved. systems, a complementing solution is needed to address a possible drop of curing
speed and hampered hardness and resistance of the cured film. Using Basonol® HPE
as a co-binder improves curing speed and lacquer performances in systems based
on low molecular weight polyacrylates and polyisocyanates. The recommended ratio
solids on solids is 5–30% on total binder.

Light stabilizers and

formulation additives

BASF offers additives for a wide spectrum of applications. Part of our portfolio are UV
absorbers (UVA) and hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) for effective stabilization
against the detrimental effects of light and weathering. To complement the comprehen
sive offer for coatings, we provide a full range of formulation additives.
