3 Mini Lessons

Lesson One: Lesson one will not require much of the students. They will come to class

as normal, but there will be no guided writing content. For this lesson, students will watch

provided spoken word clips. They will need to write down 3 things that made the piece

impactful. This will help with the brainstorming component of the assignment.

Lesson Two: For lesson two, students will learn the proper ways of giving peer feedback

and critiquing their peers in a polite manner. This step is imperative to ensure that time is being

used effectively and wisely during the feedback portion. This will be taught to ensure the

feedback is real during this portion of the assignment.

Lesson Three: Act it out! We are going to play some games of charades in class.

Speaking in front of classmates can be nerve wrecking for students. This will take students a

little out of their comfort zones, but will also allow them to grow more comfortable with their

classmates. This activity supports the presentation portion of the assignment.
