● The best part of my senior project was getting to experience what it would be

like in a day in my future career. I want to go into physical or occupational

therapy, and I got the opportunity to see what they do in their workday.

● The worst part of my senior project was that because I did most of it in July, it

was hard to remember everything that I did. Although, I was thankful that I

wrote down most of it so I could remember some things.

● After finishing my Senior Project, I now know the difference between an

occupational and physical therapist. I also know how to perform a grip test, a

pinch test, and the short blessed memory test on someone.

● The biggest stretch for me was doing the job shadow. I think this was a stretch

for me because it takes me out of my comfort zone by being in a different

environment and experiencing things that I have never seen before. Overall, I

had a very good experience during the job shadow and I am happy that I did it,

even though I was pretty nervous at first.

● My Senior Project has changed me by helping me get more comfortable with the

healthcare field. By being in the therapy environment, it has influenced me to get

a job as a resident assistant at an assisted living facility. This will help me in the

future by getting experience with the population that I may be working with in

my career.

● I think that this experience has helped me with my future plans because it helped

me decide if it is something that I want to major in while I am in college. I

enjoyed my experience during the job shadow and I also enjoyed learning the

specific tests to perform on patients.

● If I had to redo my Senior Project, I would start my project a little later. Although I

do recommend choosing and starting a project somewhat early, it is easy to

forget exactly what you did if you don’t write it down. Also, do not wait till the

last minute on your project!

● My advice to next year’s seniors is to do something you are passionate about. It

may be easier to do something easy and simple, but in the long run you will be

happier if you choose something that relates to your future. This will help you

determine if you really want to pursue something in the future.

● I would give myself an “A” because I spent a lot of time practicing the rehab

tests and it took me out of my comfort zone during my job shadow. I truly don’t

think I would have pursued this project if I wasn’t pushed to do it. :)
