Another suggestion was about the children who do not have iPads or Computers. The worry from the person was that they could be broken or
something along those lines. She wanted me to keep the children inside during a play time or before or after school or send home a powerpoint
with them. Here are my views:
I would not: keep the children before or after unless they had that option. A HUGE part of the challenges that parents have is getting their child
to and from school. This could make it even worse and could also make the parent unwilling or un-wanting of what you are trying to do. I would
also not keep them from recess. The person who suggested this may not be familiar with younger children but halting them for a reason that
they have no control over (like buying a computer or having internet) is not okay at all in my book. Children need that time =, outside or recess is
just as important to a child’s school day as learning content.
I would: allow them to make it up during free play if they would like or allow them to have 5 minutes to watch the video in class as a review for
all or a viewing in general for those who couldn’t. In my school we had computers or ipads to check out that the children could use. If this is
available this is something that I would want to use.
Another suggestion that was made was to send the link home with the parents, this is something I would do. I would add a note of things that
they could do and suggest they watch it once or twice.
Another change I made was bolding the questions so you would be able to tell them apart.
The final suggestion I was given was to change my audio and make it less scratchy. This is something that I did not have any control over. I have
never done anything like this. I do think if this was something I was going to do a lot I would try to take a class or find something to make it much
better!
