CONTEMPORARY APPROACH:
BEHAVIROAL APPROACH:
1.OPEN-MINDED MANAGEMENT STYLE:
Management styles vary based on an individual leader's blend of task-orientation and
relationship ability in interacting with employees. While leaders may exhibit an open-minded
attitude in lieu of any style, certain types of prominent approaches to management include a
common propensity to listen to employee input and consider alternative viewpoints.

2.TIME MANAGEMENT:
Good time management skills are essential to getting teams working at full steam. Encourage
the use of project plans, deadline calendars and daily “to do” lists to help staffers get the
most out of every day. You can also invest in a time management consultant who can deliver
a brief presentation to your employees about best practices, getting organized and becoming
more efficient at work.
3.EMPLOYEE SUGGESTION BOX:
This electronic version of the suggestion box can give employees the sense that their ideas
have value to the company. Empowering employees to make suggestions and create
initiatives is a behavioral approach because it helps employees enjoy their jobs and raise their
self-esteem. Management can monitor chat rooms and even join the conversation to
encourage exploration of ideas. When enough people get behind a suggestion, management
can meet with a delegation to discuss the possibilities.
4.POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT:
The behavioral approach lends itself to positive reinforcement to increase productivity.
Managers who use this style look for employees who are doing things right rather than
employees who are doing things wrong. By pointing out the beneficial behavior and even
rewarding it, the manager sends the signal that such behavior can help employees get ahead
in the workplace. As a side benefit, using positive reinforcement requires a manager to spend
time among the workforce to observe. This promotes increased familiarity and has the
potential to promote positive relations between employees and managers.
TECHNICAL APPROACH:
KFC use information system to their advantage and they have incorporated two types of systems. One is
an electronic cash register system, which they use for sales operations and to maintain daily sales
report. The other is an “Inventory Control System,” which is very beneficial and helps the franchise to
formulate their strategy. The Inventory Control System is directly integrated with KFC headquarters. KFC
headquarters received sales reports daily via the system. The system is called “ARMS System”. Also, the
system has important features installed, such as storing information in relation to recipes, cost of
products, purchasing management etc. KFC have a website, where information in relation to all products
and their nutrition value is provided in line with a health conscious society.

The implementation of the IS is most important now a days. For most business, there are
varieties of requirements for information. Different level of management needs different type
of IS to help their business planning. Senior management need information to help their
business planning. Middle management needs more detailed information to monitor and
control business. Employee at lower management need information to help them to perform
their duties.
FOR EXAMPLE:
KFC have over recent years adopted and changed their information system structure through
streamlining their processes and implementing amendments in line with evolving
requirements. KFC, as an organization have utilized their information system for different
operational processes. This assists in reducing the cost of raw material and recruiting less
working staff. All the necessary information, such as supply chain management, franchises or
new promotion stores is part of the system. Also, KFC have a comprehensive online website,
which assists in increasing business advantage. On the website there is information in relation
to updating prices, latest activities, promotions, advertisements and customer feedback.
By analyzing KFC’s information management systems in the context of the current market,
there is room for improvement. The marketing strategy i.e. advertising, planning and direction
is currently inadequate to compete with the likes of McDonalds and Pizza Hut. KFC should
introduce more promotional materials i.e. reward cards for customers, which has been adopted
by other fast food restaurants. Alternatively, KFC can introduce coupons or souvenirs, which
consists of all customers’ related information.

Transaction processing system is a type of information processing system, software and
hardware combination, which supports Transaction processing. Transaction processing is a type
of computer processing in which each individual indivisible task, called a transaction, is worked
upon and executed as and when it comes. The response to requests is immediate. In contrast to
this is batch processing in which a batch of requests are stored and then executed all at once. A
transaction Processing System is also used to collect, store, retrieve and modify transactions
executed by an organization.
In transaction processing, user or customer interaction is required, unlike batch processing. It
allows only certain predefined, typically short duration, tasks and transactions to be performed
by the user and provides a predictable request execution time, which is pre- programmed. This
gives it the following characteristics:

 Predictability
 Reliability
 Consistency

Information systems technology can be seen as a factor of production that can be freely
substituted for capital and labor. As information systems technology automates the production
process, less capital and labor are required to produce a specified output.

Several essential organizational capabilities are enhanced by information system. These system
provide support for business operations for individual and group decision making for new
product development for relationship with customer, supplier and partner for pursuit
competitive advantage and in some cases for business model itself information system bring
new options to ways companies interact and compete the way organizations are structure and
the way workplace designed. In general, use of web base information system can significantly
lower the cost of communication among workers and firm and cost effectively enhance the
coordination of supply chain or web. This had led many organizations to concentrate on their
core competencies an to outsource other parts of their value chain to specialized company.
The capability to communicate information efficiently within a firm has led to the development
of flatter organizational structures with fewer hierarchical layer.
Nevertheless, information system do not uniformly lead to higher profit success depend on the
both skill with which information system are deployed and on their use being combined with
other resources of the firm such as, relationship with business partner or superior knowledge
of the industry.
The use of information system has enabled new organizational structure. In particular so-called
virtual organizations have emerged that do not rely on physical office and standard
organizational charts. Two notable form of virtual organizations are the network organization
and the cluster.
Information systems can thus help firms increase revenue while shrinking in size. Information
systems can reduce the number of levels in an organization by providing managers
with information to supervise larger numbers of workers and by giving lower-level employees
more decision-making authority

Sociotechnical approach
In the context of technical approach, this approach emphasizes on mathematically based work
computer science, management science, operations research. In the bank al Habib technical
approach is follows in the bank and gives feedback to the customers within a minute. If we
need to know the current balance in an account, so the bank account gives all necessary
information’s like account number to the customer and gives feedback to the customer
regarding account balance within a minute it’s also a time saving for customer and bank.
In the context of behavioral approach, this approach mainly focusses on economic, psychology
and sociological issues of a person or in society. Kfc is famous worldwide foe fried chicken. Kfc
analyze the demand of our product in a country. If KFC made chicken with non halal ingredient
so the majority of Muslim country avoid to eat so the company observe the customers mind
according to the socio, psychology and economic issue and made a strategy of a product made
with halal ingredients and write it like we care about you so the customers will retain.
