General product information:

Complete details of construction and testing as well as supporting documentation such as photographs and
schematics are done by previous Test Reports and partly included in the attachments.
The UPS provides reinforced insulation between primary and secondary circuits.

Conditions of Installation:
The units are suitable for a maximum manufacturer’s recommended ambient operating temperature (Tma)
of 40 °C.
Unit is designed and approved for use in installation category II.
Unit intended for continuous operation while charging.
UPS are Class 1 and designed for Pollution Degree 2.
Unit could be used as stand-alone (tower) or rack mounted version.
VDE approved appliance inlets and outlets are used.
– Alternative construction for AC power input and/or output power outlet to be terminal block struc-
ture. See installation manual for detail.
Secondary circuits are designed in 3 areas, (MB + DCLPS board and Communication Boards) other boards
are defined as Primary circuit area.

Model differences:
All models are identical except:
 UPS, Main differences:
1. Electric Ratings
2. Transformers: Charger transformer, DC/DC transformer, and Logic Power Supply transformer
3. Chokes: Input choke (for EMI), PFC choke L1203, Inverter choke L1207
4. TRIAC (for improving relay transfer time), Hall Sensor (for current sense)
5. Size of PCB (2.2KVA is 2 inch shorter than 3KVA). Layout in the area of PFC choke, Inverter
choke.

 External Battery Pack: (for example: SRT96BP/72BP)

1. Electric rating;
2. Quantity of batteries inside
3. Metal chassis is same as 2.2KVA of UPS.

M TABLE: Ventilation of battery compartments N/A

The required dimension for the ventilation openings will be calculated with the
following formula:
A > K1 * Q
with Q = (0.054 m³/Ah) * n * I * C
where:
K1 : constant factor of 28 h * cm²/m³
Q : airflow in m³/h
n : number of battery cells
I : constant factor (0,2A/100Ah for valve regulated lead acid batteries)
C : nominal capacity of the battery
With the specific data for the UPS the following dimension for the ventilation
openings is required:
n :?
C :?
A > 28 h * cm²/m³ * (0.054 m³/Ah) * n * 0.2 A/100 Ah * C
A > ? cm²
Verdict
The size of ventilation openings in battery cabinet exceeds the required airflow by
far (as well as the UPS).

HEATING TEST: RD 4.5.1, 1.4.12, 1.4.13

The sample was connected as noted below and operated until temperatures became stable. Temper-
atures were measured using the thermocouple method.

[ ] Rise in temperature of windings of motors and transformers were additionally determined by the
change-of-resistance method.

[X] Before starting the Heating Test, each special non-detachable power supply cord connection was
pulled with a force of 5 N (1.12 lbs) for one minute. During the Heating Test, the temperature of its
connections were recorded. (Maximum 60°C rise per 3.3.2.)

The sample operated as follows:

Method Comments

C Same as Method A except each unit was operated in the Stored Energy Mode.
D Same as Method A except each unit was operated in the bypass mode.

[ ] The concentration of hydrogen gas in the battery compartment was measured during the test - see
Battery Compartment Ventilation Test on following pages for method and results.
Tmra was __40___ °C.

Test Conditions:
Model Method Input V Input Hz or DC
SRT3000(RM)XLW-IEC A 187, 208,240,254.4 60
B 187, 208,240,254.4 60
C 96 DC
D 187, 208,240,254.4 60

Note: (#) - All the measured data has been normalized to ambient 40ºC.
Note: (@) - If 60 Hz in “Input Test” is the most severe operating condition, then please replace fre-
quency in 60 Hz for “Heating Test”.

Test Results APPENDIX 2

POWER SUPPLY/OVERLOAD TEST: RD 5.3.6

METHOD

A sample of each model UPS indicated below was operated in the normal mode delivering maximum
rated output AC power into an adjustable resistive load.
[Once the sample reached thermal stability, the unit was operated in the Stored Energy Mode.]

The output was connected to a variable resistor to draw the maximum available output current with all
other outputs loaded to maximum normal rating. If the unit employed foldback or overcurrent circuitry,
the output current was adjusted to a level that was just below the point at which the power supply cir-
cuitry limited the output current. The trip point of overcurrent protective devices was considered to be
110 percent of their current rating; such devices were removed for this test and replaced with an am-
meter. If the unit employed an overtemperature device, the output current was adjusted to a level that
was just below the point at which the overtemperature device operated.

If the initial point selected (below foldback) caused the power supply to foldback after several minutes,
a point (10-20 percent) below foldback was selected. Temperatures were allowed to stabilize and us-
ing a stepwise procedure, the load was increased while monitoring temperatures. After temperatures
stabilized, the load was increased to the next incremental point. The process was continued until fold-
back. The maximum temperature obtained before foldback was recorded. This same stepwise incre-
mental procedure was used for units employing overtemperature protective service.

The equipment was operated until ultimate results (e.g., component opens, fire, etc.) or thermal equi-
librium was obtained. If any test was terminated by opening of a component other than a reliable
component (e.g., Listed/Recognized fuse, Recognized fusing resistor), the test was retested an addi-
tional two times (three times total) using new components as necessary.

BACKFEED PROTECTION TEST and Schematic

METHOD
A sample of each model of UPS indicated below was operated in the reserve mode. The backfeed
potentials at the input AC terminals or attachment plug blades were measured. A solid-state device such as
a Triac, SCR, or the like, if provided in the input AC circuit, was shorted at its load terminals during this test.
Voltage Type Maximum Acceptable Voltages
1. Sinusoidal AC, 100 Hz or less 30 V, RMS
2. Non-sinusoidal AC, 100 Hz or less 42.4 V peak
3. Pure DC 60 V
