from the President by popular vote. The Vice President is the first in line to succession if the
President resigns, is impeached or dies. The Vice president is usually, though not always, a
member of the President’s cabinet. There are a total of 22 executive departments. The
departments comprise the largest part of the country’s bureaucracy. The heads of the departments
are referred to as the Cabinet of the Philippines.
Our group will present the Executive Branch of the Philippines.

THE PRESIDENT: Well, this is my 9TH meeting with my Cabinet and obviously, we’ve got
some familiar faces, we have also some new faces. I want to make sure that I say thank you to all
of you for the work that you’ve done and the work that you’re going to be doing. I appreciate
everything that you’ve done. Our agenda for this meeting are the reports by each departments for
their plans in improving the services given to the Filipino people.
( departments secretaries will present their reports and plans)
Department of Tourism- Sofia Ison : The DOT plans to raise the bar for the country’s tourism
industry, by improving the airports and seaports in order to lure more foreign tourist the country.
Air connectivity and airport infrastructure will form part of our priorities for tourism. We will
reaching out cruise lines to encourage them to increase call in the country’s ports. DOT aims at
meeting its year end goal at 7.4 million international tourist arrivals.
Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary – Kaesar: The DFA is looked upon for leadership in
promoting the interest of the Philippines and the Filipinos in the world. It is important for us to
continue to build the DFA and the Philippine Foreign Service. And I’m so pleased that out
authentication procedures at our consular office were recently certified ISO-compliant. We need
to make the department a smarter, more effective and more resilient organizations.
Department of Education Secretary - Erin : Mr President, DepEd itself assessed the
implementation of K-12. Among the encouraging news, we found that the situation in
kindergartens had improved, with a more localised curriculum, the construction of clean, safe
and child-friendly classrooms, and closer cooperation with the community. Children were
developing a love of reading, while teachers’ skills had been enhanced via use of technology and
the adoption of more effective teaching strategies. DeoEd has embarked on education reforms
that it considers crucial to our economic development, bringing our school system into line with
international standards.
Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary – Vyrone - the government is now
accelerating the planning and preparatory stages to rehabilitate Marawi, which would take two to
three years to complete, displaced families have started to benefit from the slew of immediate
and short-term projects that both the government and foreign institutions have put in place as
soon as residents return to their devastated city.
Department of transportation secretary - Darrel : Our big-ticket infrastructure projects marked
milestone after milestone this year --- budget approvals, designs, procurement processes, ground
breakings, and official start of construction. In the railways sector alone, we broke ground for the
LRT-1 Cavite Extension, LRT-2 East Extension, and the long-delayed Common Station. We
made significant progress for the Manila – Clark Railway, Manila – Bicol Railway, got initial
funding for Mindanao railway, and sealed Japan’s commitment to build the country’s first
subway system. These reforms and projects that we’ve been undertaking since July 2016 make
us excited for 2018 and the years to come, when we can finally turn over to the people what is
rightfully theirs.
Department of Health Secretary – Rhain Child immunization is an essential public health
program given priority by the national government. The DOH also established a hotline and a
Public Assistance Desk so that the vaccinated children, their families and the general public can
have easy access to information and services on the dengue vaccine initiative.
Department of National Defense – Ahmed: We will continue to deploy troops to a Manila-
claimed reef in the West Philippine Sea amid China's threatening moves in the area. The military
is doing things quietly,"Rest assured, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is doing its best
to really assure the Filipinos that our territory are being protected. We will still patrol and we will
keep on protesting if we see Chinese actions) that are not consistent with our national interest, we are
going to protest China.

Vice Pesident- I’am very optimistic that we can work together for the common good of our country and
to its people if we can all respect each other and set aside any political differences and personal agendas..
Let us listen to each other and continue to collaborate.
President : It is for this reason that we are continuing to work for our nation and to ensure the welfare of
out countrymen. I am appealing to all of you to help us as our true and dependable partners. As a worker
of this government I promised to do whatever it would take to give the Filipino people a comfortable life,
fighting powerful interest and making sacrifices .My obligation is to promote the greatest good, for the
greatest number. I will do my very best I know how- the very best I can for our country; and I keep doing
so until the end.

Emirha; thank you for listening to our group and we hope you like our performance.
