What is the best path to finding a career you would like? Many people ask themselves
this at some point in their lives which shows the importance of understanding this question. A
career is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with
opportunities for progress. Although finding a career comes with many difficulties especially
narrowing it down to the overall factor for people, having a career you enjoy. Going into these
next steps in my own life I am wondering the same things which are why this question is of
importance to me. After examining sources from all over I have come to the conclusion to cover
the three main parts for answering this question in-depth and for everyone to relate on their own
level. The key points to consider when answering this question is your interest, your education,
Understanding the key points is how to find your career especially a career you like.
First, and I feel most importantly is your interests and how you can connect what you like or
what you do often to different occupations around the world. Second, the education you obtain is
of high importance to find that career you are working to. Lastly, at some point work experience
for that job will come into effect and a great way of getting your dream job is to be prepared and
experience goes hand in hand with being prepared for something. In my life answering this
considered that my interests are in the military and a mechanical or hand on occupation. In the

end, my dream job is to be a pilot so the difficulty is trying to combine all my interests into a
career. I decided that to find a career in my interest I would have to get a degree based
mechanically and mechanical engineering would be the best for that and minoring in Aerospace
would cover my interest as a pilot. The work experience I could get for this career would be very
beneficial and after reviewing options I have come to the conclusion that an internship or co-op
The history of the search for a career goes back a long time ago, back when we first
needed to earn money to survive. Over the years the types of interest have changed due to many
factors. The improvements in technology, the population of people, and the fad or style at that
time all had effects on what interest people had for a career in history. Education has also
changed majorly, our education systems have been one of the biggest improvements in history
for K-12 schooling to college institutions. The types of education offered are a major factor in
choosing where you learn. Just as the other key points have changed over history so has the work
experiences that are offered. The internships and co-op have immensely been improved and have
been able to provide major changes to corporations, companies, and your future careers
A disagreement I found between my sources was that in the “Careers need their on and
off ramps” the source says, "How can we provide people with opportunities to speed their
careers up again after a period where they have slowed down?" and in "The Education System
Should Emphasize Work Skills." by Pamela Emanoil and it says, “West Virginia has used
school-to-work as its template something that establishes or serves as a pattern”. These two
sources I feel are disagreeing about whether you can only find one dream career. In “Careers
need their on and off ramps” it is saying that you can find another dream career after you have
already found on as it is almost an on and off-ramp. Although in "The Education System Should

Emphasize Work Skills." they are saying that school and work correlate together. I felt this
means that by obtaining educations you are only designated to one career field, not for many. In
conclusion, I feel that this is a disagreement when it comes to people reading these sources trying
The purpose of this question is to help anyone who is in the need of a career that they
love which is one of the most important things in life and a necessity for most. Many
misconceptions for finding a career is that you can’t get any career you want, theirs no way to
ding a career you love, or that you don’t need the last two key points to find a career with your
preferences. These are misconceptions because all of these key points are possible ways of
answering the question. Using the key points and the sources show credibilities throughout the
history that there are ways of finding the career you want. I am a strong believer that you can
obtain anything you want as long as you work hard enough and that is the overall answer to the
question, what is the best path to finding a career you would like?
