All organisms are made of cells, the fundamental unit of life. Most organisms are single celled others are multicellular.
Many chemical reactions take place in the cell and many of these reactions happen on or inside the Endoplasmic
Reticulum (ER). There are two types of ER, Rough and smooth. Even if they look similar, they are different.
3. There are two important kinds of cells, Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. According to their characteristics, these
cells can form unicellular or multicellular organisms.
Amoebas are
A. Eukaryotes because they have nucleus and are made by only one cell.
B. prokaryotes because they have nucleus inside their cells and are multicellular.
C. eukaryotes because they are made by only one cell without nucleus.
D. prokaryotes because they don’t have a nucleus and are single celled
organisms.
“Plants and algae have chloroplast in some of their cells. Chloroplast are organelles in which photosynthesis takes place.
Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use sunlight, carbon dioxide and water to make sugar and oxygen. Animal
cells do not have chloroplasts.
Chloroplasts are green because they have a green molecule called chlorophyll. Chlorophyll traps the energy from sunlight.
Mitochondria then use the sugar made in photosynthesis to make ATP.”

Matilde is making an investigation about how do potatoes reproduce. She wrote some hypothesis and started the
procedure. For that, teacher recommended put the potato inside water during some weeks.
Matilde started her project and leave it next to the window.
Two days after, Matilde had to travel with her parents during three weeks and she couldn’t follow up the process of her
project.
Matilde has to present a report using the scientific method. She has to present her conclusions and talk about the process
with her classmates.
