1. What is the role of Indigenous Media in Information Resource?

- The role of Indigenous media in information resource is to raise awareness, sharing


knowledge and supporting a broader debate on indigenous knowledge, culture and
values. It makes our culture to be passed from generation to generation and in to
survive their culture in our modern world. It will also help educate and inform
people, and as well as to promote changes in attitudes and social behavior.

2. What are the types of information that is received and pass on the community?

- The types of information are indigenous, traditional and local information. These
types of information can be gathered from books, magazines, and journals,
multimedia contents such as audio, video, and graphical sources of information,
social media and online websites, word of mouth and from traditional media such as
newspapers, radio and television.

3. How is the type of information be helpful to the community? In what ways does passing
on this information help the community?

- These types of information will be helpful to the community by sharing one’s


knowledge to others, promoting and supporting one’s culture, values and beliefs
that they have learned upon sharing information with one another in a community.
Passing of information will help the community in a way that the people living in a
community will be aware of the happenings around them. They will be able to learn
and gain more knowledge that are new to them that will be very helpful in their
daily lives, and at the same time, people could share their opinions freely and
combine all the information that they have gathered to help for the betterment of
the community.

4. How do you know that the information that is passed on is true?

- We would be able to know that the information that is passed on is true by


evaluating the sources of information if it is credible, reliable and accurate. The
information gathered must have valid evidences to prove that it is true and
trustable.

5.  What are the difficulties in passing on information to others?

- The difficulties in passing on information to others are misinterpretation and giving


false information. We all have different perception and opinions about a certain
topic or information, and thus, this will lead to misinterpretation which will result to
sharing incorrect information to others. When it comes to sharing or passing on
information, some of the ideas that must be shared are lacking or some words are
changed which will make your knowledge about it to be limited and will also cause
misunderstanding.

6. Are these pieces of information available in popular media?

- Yes, these information are available in popular media because nowadays, most
information are now found on social medias and online websites which will help
people to become updated and always aware of the happenings around our
community. Through popular media, we would be able to know one’s culture,
traditions and beliefs.
