Is Stress Harmful to the Human Body?

Do you understand stress and the harmful effects it can have on your body? Stress can be

harmful to the human body, because it can cause several life threating issues. Stress has been known to

cause health issues to the human body within a period of time. Stress can weaken your immune system

which can cause serious and sometimes fatal issues. Here it says “continued strain on your body from

stress may contribute to serious health problems, such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes,

and other illnesses, including mental disorders such as depression and anxiety”. Also “Stress has been

called “the silent killer” and can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, chest pain, and an irregular

heartbeat”. Both of these websites show that stress can affect your body in a negative way! Another

website makes it clear that stress can affect our bodies with “physical symptoms, such as headaches, an

upset stomach, high blood pressure, chest pain”.

There are many arguments on stress that others clash with. On one website they said that stress

is good for you “In a dangerous situation, stress signals the body to prepare to face a threat or flee to

safety”. On a different site they continue the idea that stress is bad for you. Although stress can be

useful. The human mind tells us what to do in a dangerous situation, not stress. Our common sense and

self-diligence is led by our brain in a “flight or fight” response. Not stress, to many researchers it is a

different topic. Many people commit suicide over stress as well as if it was a fight response. This was led

by the brain, but caused by stress. When someone feels threatened stress has been proven to be the

one behind the threat. It is more of an instinct of that is leading the decision. Stress overall by the

researchers has more negative effects on the human body than it does good.

There are many sources out there that talk about stress. Some say it’s good and some say it’s

bad. In a website a writer had written a statement that has been found to be false! The writer tells us

“YOU MAY BE STRESSED EVEN IF YOU DON’T SHOW ANY PHYSICAL SYMPTOM”. Then following it by

saying that this claim was “true”. Although this definitely is this writer’s opinion it is surely debatable.

Researcher have found that this is simply not true. The article says that stress causes “Lack of motivation

or interest in things” or “Irritability and anger” also “Fatigue or low energy”. There are many more

examples such as these in this article. There is always some kind of physical symptom that involves

stress. If you were to hang out around someone you know and they were under a load. There would be

an obvious difference in their behavior. Most researchers agree with the same issue of stress is

noticeable of the human body. It displays it in a rather obvious way of something being off.

Not all stress is bad and some agree with that statement. Certain kinds of stress were developed

in our bodies to stabilize us. They are there to keep our body functioning as it should. Stress play a very

important role on the human weather it is harmful or a normal function. Stress can cause so many issues

to the human body! Majority of them being a negative impact, but yet some help our body. Stress “can

even boost memory”. Memory is a vital key to the human’s survival without it we are nothing. Stress

plays a big role on us and when we need it stress helps recall memory. With stress built into the human

body it affects us majorly.

There has been a lot of data and support gathered here of how stress effects the body. We have

seen how stress can affect the body in both positive and negative ways. Although most researchers that

I’ve studied do agree that stress is a negative concept to our body there have been some that say it is

good. Within any research there is always two sides to everything! The answer here is obvious that

although stress can help our bodies in certain ways that it’s supposed to. It will ultimately hurt the

human body. Checking these websites can give you a better understanding on why stress is harmful to

your body. Many as a whole struggle from stress, because it causes so many negative things to the

human body.
