Questions
Cancellation or Postponement
it’s becoming less and less likely that people are going to be
involved in a plane crash, but if they are, they are more likely to
survive now than they would have in the past. However, they may
have significant injuries and may even be dismembered. Flight
insurance in a trip insurance policy covers exactly this possibility
and will offer them a sum of money if they lose a limb, for example,
in a plane crash.
Let Allianz Travel Insurance help protect your trip investment by taking the
worry out of unforeseen circumstances that could disrupt your plans. We can
provide trip cancellation coverage, giving you cash back for up to 100% of
your trip costs for reasons like: Termination by employer* Covered illness or
injury of you or your traveling companions* Airlines stopping services for at
least 24 hours due to natural disasters such as hurricanes, named severe
storms, or earthquakes*
Have you ever noticed that some people in the airport look perfectly
unruffled, even as chaos unfolds around them? You too can be one of those
polished flyers with these air travel tips for packing your bags, sailing through
security and dealing with flight delays.
1. Cancelled Trips
This is the #1 concern with most travelers.
You invest money when planning a trip. If these expenses are pre-
paid and non-refundable, you risk losing it if something goes wrong.
Travel insurance covers expenses if you need to cancel your trip for a
covered reason
This is only a partial list, but you can see it covers very common
situations for cancelling.
Most people think they are covered for medical emergencies if they
already have existing health care insurance. Within the United
States, that will be true.
Outside the U.S., however, is a big IF. Most do not provide coverage,
and Medicare never covers you abroad.
For cruises, your health insurance from home may not cover you if
you’re traveling on a foreign-flagged ship (which includes most
cruise ships).
Even if you are covered for basic emergency care overseas (again, a
big IF), your current health insurance provider will almost certainly
NOT pay to evacuate you and repatriate you back to the U.S.
3. Emergency evacuations
Medical emergencies can be scary, and the travel medical coverage
explained above helps you get care.
These coverage are for the “smaller things” that are nice to have.
Again, the list is not complete but it will give you an idea of some
additional coverages.
