The conditions stemmed from their class does the writer emphasize about the Filipino
idealism which is not possible to sustain the interests within the educational system. From the
literary text wherein Ms. Noel made a statement where the evaluation is looks like “play” where
a month preparation before the evaluation. Ms. Noel talks about the bad thoughts in regards to
the visitation. Mr. Sawit made a deal with Ms. Noel stop this kind of thoughts, then she will not
degraded from her position. The writer emphasis to the readers how bad educational system
rooted from the literary text where students suffer in the end.
Ms. Noel is the best character emphasis with class struggle in the story. She has
principles about educational system from her educational institution which conflict to both
characters namely Mr. Sawit and Mr. & Mrs. Noble’s perspective point of view. She finds the
visitation or evaluation being organized by the supervisors and superintendent looks like script or
play where a month preparation before the evaluation. This ideal is not good for the educational
system within their educational system where there is no sustain interest of educational standards
for the long run but rather it is just exist only in the first place at the time of evaluation then the
students suffer in the end.
Reader’s perspective point of view in regards to the literary text reveal especially to the
educational system from the underdeveloped countries. A real situations arises wherein students
suffers from this malpractice being made from selected positions from the education sector. The
results from the school performance in the literary text reveals where it just only a paper and
doesn’t reflect to the reality. The visitation is looks like a play where all actions/preparations are
likely for pretentions. The good performance results reflect to the high standards being
implemented from Pugad Lawin School which is not really reflected from the ground which
means sustainable of high standards cannot cater for the long run due to several factors that may
arises like lack of facilities, financial matters and others that could triggered to it.
In the developed countries, the literary text reveals if you have strong relationship from
the higher officials from education sector where there is a possibility of easy access like
promotion or any advantages that could help for their own personal interest. Before this scenario,
you have a lots of preparations or any pretention actions where it could please them and can lead
to strong relationships. For promotional use, you have to go with the flow with other people even
though it may conflict your own interest but for the sake of your future.
The literary reveals wherein Ms. Noel suffers oppression and social conflict with her
colleagues. Her principles and thoughts regarding the educational system triggered this kind of
conflict. A conflict arises leads to oppression wherein Ms. Noel is being degraded in terms of her
principles after Mr. Sawit pursue her to keep quiet about her thoughts regarding the visitation
and move forward to avoid being demoted from reclassifications.
Ms. Noel is just doing her righteous job but along with this where she found out the
malpractice from the school which conflict to the school principal Mr. Nobles and his wife Mrs.
Nobles who are responsible for this. Despite of it where some of the teachers may have conflict
with Ms. Noel but she continue her passion to teach and still doing right things.
