1. “Revista Bem Legal” is a Journal from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul where
researchers/teachers publish their papers, experiences and projects, especially those applied in
public schools1. Choose one English learning project from the website of the Journal and
analyze it similarly to the project from Ricardo e Silva (2011) 2. Complete the schematic
description of the learning project in terms of its context, objective(s), theme, rationale,
participants, methodology and outcomes.

Theme Harry Potter and friendship
The teachers observed that some students did not seem eager to engage with each
Rationale other. They decided to use Harry Potter, because some students mentioned it in the

The methodology was divided into (number) parts. In the first one, the teachers
focused on getting to know the students and vice versa. The second part was
destined to introduce the theme of the project (friendship). The third part was

dedicated to work with some parts of the saga and activities related to vocabulary.
In the last part they should produce a timeline with the moments of friendship in
Harry Potter’s saga they considered the most important ones.
Both teachers agreed that they had to make adjustments on the project. In general,
Outcomes the project went well, because the students participated and even presented the
timeline in English.

2. Explain why you chose this project.

I chose this project because I love Harry Potter and I found really interesting the association the
teachers made. I would like to do something similar in my project – not with Harry Potter, but with
some book/movie/game/etc the students like, because I think it helps in the learning process.
