AI: One step into innovation or into extinction?

In computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), sometimes called machine intelligence, is

intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans.
As machines become increasingly capable, tasks considered to require "intelligence" are often
removed from the definition of AI, a phenomenon known as the AI effect. A quip in Tesler's
Theorem says "AI is whatever hasn't been done yet." For instance, optical character recognition is
frequently excluded from things considered to be AI, having become a routine technology. Modern
machine capabilities generally classified as AI include successfully understanding human speech,
competing at the highest level in strategic game systems (such as chess and others), autonomously
operating cars, intelligent routing in content delivery networks, and military simulations.
AI can be classified into three different types of systems: analytical, human-inspired, and
humanized artificial intelligence. Analytical AI has only characteristics consistent with cognitive
intelligence; generating cognitive representation of the world and using learning based on past
experience to inform future decisions. Human-inspired AI has elements from cognitive and
emotional intelligence; understanding human emotions, in addition to cognitive elements, and
considering them in their decision making. Humanized AI shows characteristics of all types of
competencies (i.e., cognitive, emotional, and social intelligence), is able to be self-conscious and is
self-aware in interactions with others.
The field was founded on the claim that human intelligence "can be so precisely described that a
machine can be made to simulate it". This raises philosophical arguments about the nature of the
mind and the ethics of creating artificial beings endowed with human-like intelligence which are
issues that have been explored by myth, fiction and philosophy since antiquity. Some people also
consider AI to be a danger to humanity if it progresses unabated. Others believe that AI, unlike
previous technological revolutions, will create a risk of mass unemployment. I believe that AI is a
mistake we’re making whose consequences are going to be awful not only for the employees that
are going to be replaced, but for the whole human race, as Elon Musk said in an interview with Joe
Rogan “not only are regular workers going to be replaced by them (robots with AI), but as upgrades
are given to AI life will completely change its ways (…) This technology is going to be used as a
weapon and when that occurs, trust in life itself will break, (Humanized AI) is not going to be
necessarily bad, but it’s going to be above humans, and that is something that’s going to happen,
some think that those are just crazy sci-fi ideas, but it’s happening today and nobody can stop it”.
The ways that AI is made are above my understanding, but its functions and dangers are there for
everybody to see, even a little kid knows that a robot that can do things like a human sounds scary.
AI applications can go from Siri, looking for the information you asked it for, to Sophia, a self-
conscious Arabic robot that has more rights than actual Arabic women and ideas of ending human
race so that robots can rule the world (as shown in the talk she had live on T.V. with Siri),
obviously Sophia showed that scary idea in a way people would think it was just am thought that’s
perfectly normal and that everybody has, but the fact that she’s capable of having those ideas makes
me freak out, and should make everybody do too. AI robots are made to analyse problems, make
plans to solve those problems and then act in order to actually eradicate these problems from the
earth, so that makes me think…what would happen if some of these robots are made to solve big
environmental issues and the answer they find is to exterminate the human race because it’s the
only way to keep the planets environmentally healthy? In contrast to us they don’t have morals or
the human factor that makes you think about other people’s health and life, they got a program that
is made to find solutions and put them into work, no mercy, no morals, no compassion, just cold
calculations and actions, that’s it.
It’s an actual deep conversation, to be honest, my position is very clear, but every day I hear about
things that blow up my mind and make me even question what’s the difference between Humanized
AI robots and us? Is there a soul on us that makes us different? If there’s a creator, god, whatever
you want to call it, is it in favour or against this developments? Maybe when it created us, it was
thinking the same way we think about AI robots, maybe the reason we created them is to feel god
alike, these are some questions that hunt me in my sleep, but that are worth the answering, even
when the answer is terrifying.
God bless America, Europe and everywhere an AI robot is being made, let’s all hope humanity isn’t
doomed by its own hand.
