WELCOME!

Thank you for downloading the J3PO Signature OB-Xd Patches. There are a ton of fun
patches in this pack, ranging from punchy 808 basses to Wurlitzer-esque keyboard-ish
sounds to FX and plain old phat synths. In order to use these patches, you will need to
download OB-Xd, which is an amazing free virtual synth, from the Internet. Then, you
can read how to load the patches.
It’s quite easy, actually.

DOWNLOAD THE SYNTH

Go to:
https://www.discodsp.com/obxd/
and download the OB-Xd synthesizer (MAC, Windows, or Linux) it’s free, or you can
make a donation for their efforts.

Run the installer. You can use the synth in stand-alone mode or in your DAW. Pro Tools
users: you will need a bridge like Blue Cat’s Patchwork. In Logic and Ableton (and other
DAWs, I’m pretty sure), you can access it as an AU or VST. Visit the synth manufacturer’s
website for more information.

INSTALLING THE PATCHES

There are a couple ways to do this. I can only speak for Mac on how to do this, but it
should be similar for Windows and Linux.

Select the file “J3PO Signature OB-Xd Patches.fxb” from the folder you downloaded and
place it in:

Documents/discoDSP/OB-Xd/Banks

If you’re not on a MAC, just figure out where the equivalent folder is after install.

Now, when you open the synth anywhere on your computer, the patches will be
present.

Alternatively, you can open the patch bank from the VST within your DAW (but your
DAW must support VST plugins). To do this in Ableton, load OB-Xd as a VST—not as an
AU—and in the square “Device” unit, click on the left hand folder icon to “Load Preset or
Bank” and then navigate to where you download the J3PO Signature OB-Xd Patches.
SELECTING A PATCH

To load a patch, right click anywhere on the GUI of the OB-Xd. A submenu should pop
down that has options for “Skins, Programs, and Banks.” Select “Banks” and click on
“J3PO Signature OB-Xd Patches.” Now, right click again and click on “Programs.” You
should now see all of my patches! If you would like to save these patches outside of the
synth itself, I highly recommend it, especially if you want to make changes to any of the
patches. Please check out my videos on YouTube for further details. If you are familiar
with your DAW, this should be a simple process.

The OB-Xd is truly great synth and I hope you enjoy the patches I’ve created for it, and
the myriad of patches made by other designers that are available within the synth and
online.
