1.1.2 Identify the scope of career opportunities and the requirements for education,
For my chosen career path, I created a foot map that explains the path that I will
starting in high school all the way to being a successful teacher. Written on my career
path are the classes and steps I have taken in high school, as well as my future plans
such as, colleges I may apply to and why I have chosen those specific colleges. Finally,
I included notes about different teachers’ career journeys. These notes are small
things that some interviewed teachers have noticed throughout the years and little tricks
they have learned that really make the classroom a successful place. When we filled out
teacher surveys (evidence 3.2.1), I interviewed Miss. Ubry, who told me how she got
started in teaching and what really makes her job enjoyable: teaching kids and seeing
them thrive.
During class we also took a self assessment. This self assessment consisted of 5
sections. The first section was analytical reasoning. In this section you had to place a
set of words into an order. This was to measure your concept of organization and ability
to break down complex ideas. The second was three of a kind. Here you had to choose
three of the five pictures. The three you chose were supposed to be related. This judged
your inductive reasoning. The third section was paper folding and it measured your
structural visualization. Section four was number series, you were given a set of
numbers and had to choose the next number. This measured numerical reasoning. The
last section is what comes to mind. Here you were given an abstract shape and had to
list as many ideas as to what it could be. This measured your foresight. The overall
purpose of the self assessment was to see what skills you succeeded in and the
(evidence 3.2.3). We were able to speak with the superintendent, a school board
member and the Olentangy Teacher Association president. We learned about these
three jobs and why they are important to the success of our district. These three careers
other than teaching as well as guidance counselors, administrators and principals, are
careers in the educational field that one could pursue besides teaching. To become a
structure. This document goes over what the different requirements are for various
renewable license. One of the requirements is a Bachelor’s degree. It also has the
Professional Educator License, a five year renewable license. You need to have a
Bachelor’s degree, and successfully complete the Ohio Residential Educator Program.
It also has the Senior Professional Educator License which is also a five year renewable
license. For the Senior Educator License, you need to have a Master’s degree or
higher, nine years experience under a standard teaching license and successfully
complete the Masters Teacher Portfolio. The last License on the document is the Lead
Professional Educator License, a five year renewable license. You need to have a
Master’s degree or higher, nine years experience under a standard teaching license or
a Senior Professional Educator License. You need to have earned a Teacher Leader
Under college, I included that I will be visiting Bowling Green State University on
October 28th. I wish to attend either Asbury University or Bowling Green State
University, but I do not have a definite plan where I will go to college but these are two
of my options. I plan on majoring in education. I wrote that I will obtain a degree in high
school French education (evidence 3.2.5). Once I finish my college years I would like to
