- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
o understand a text about international celebrations
o incorporate vocabulary about special foods, verbs related to celebrations
o revise vocabulary related to months and seasons
o use present simple (affirmative)
 LINGUISTIC CONTENT
o The subject matter of the lesson in terms of language skills is:
 Reading comprehension of international festivals
 Present simple: affirmative
 The topic is “celebrations”
 Vocabulary: months and seasons
 LESSON´S CONTEXT : celebrations
- PROCEDURES
- Teacher asks students to remember what they did the previous class (started new
unit: days and dates)
- T asks examples of days and dates (orally)
- Teacher makes students watch Powerpoint with some pictures, students have to
guess what celebration the picture is showing and answer questions related to these
pictures (orally)
- Students do an exercise where they have to complete a text with verbs related to
some international festivals (orally)
- Students match words to pictures (vocabulary related to special foods for
celebrations)
- Students do a T or F exercise based on the text they read beforehand (individual work,
they check orally)
- Teacher hands in pieces of paper with a word printed on it to each student. She
explains they have to order the words on the blackboard (sticking them on it) to make
a paragraph related to present simple
- Students do a written exercise where they have to make sentences related to present
simple. They check the answers on the blackboard (teacher chooses students to write
the answers on the board)
