Patriotism is a fiery fountain from which spring the sweet stream of love. It is the fervent fondness for one’s
country, nation, traditions, laws, and even land. It is an allegiance to the country’s constitution, government,
people and institutions. It is a proud of one’s country’s virtues and eager to correct it deficiencies. It is a thing
of heart and the last refuge of a scoundrel. It is a lively sense of responsibility.
“A man is a patriot if his heart beats true to his country.”
-Charles E. Jefferson

I, being a Pakistani, love Pakistan. I love it for its ideology. I love it for its people. I love it for its golden
traditions and ancient civilization, and for its matchless beauty and rich soil. For the freedom it offers; for the
liberty it provides. I love it for the sacrifices our forefathers gave to get an ideology based homeland. I love it
for the opportunities it gives to its natives to live a life full of dignity and respect.
“We have no national idea besides patriotism, and there can be no other.”
-Vladimir Putin

Pakistan came into being on the basis of strong ideology, the Muslim Ideology. It is the set of beliefs and
doctrines that one has to follow in his life. Pakistan’s constitution is based on Islamic principles. Islam is a
complete code of life and Pakistan is the fortress of Islam and Islamic citadel. In British India, Islam could live
as a religion but not as the way of life. In order to implement Islam as deen we got Pakistan. It is the sanctuary
where we feel safe and protected.
“Pakistan not only means freedom and independence but the Muslim Ideology which has to be
preserved.”
-Muhammad Ali Jinnah

I love my country for the people it produced. It is a place of great men. It is the place where Quaid-e-Azam
has lived. It is the place where the great religious scholars like Data Gunj Buksh, Khawaja Gulam Fareed and
Baba Bhulle Shah had lived. It is the place where the great poets like Hafeez Jalandhari and Faiz Ahmad Faiz
had breathed their last. It is the place of great warriors who sacrificed their lives for its defense.
“A great place is that which has the greatest men and women.”

-John Horace
I love my country for its beautiful scenery, golden traditions and fertile fields. It is a land of forested valleys,
mighty mountains, fast flowing rivers, surging streams, lush green fields, fruitful flowery gardens, substantial
resources and thriving industries. It is a place of long-standing culture, time- honored traditions, solemn rituals
and long establishing customs. It is a culture of ancient civilization. Mohenjo-Daro, Harappa and Texila are
known for their ancient heritage, antique traces and primal relics.
“Culture is the passion for sweetness and light and passion for making them prevail.”
Arnold

I love my country for its natural resources. Oils, coal, natural gas, marble, precious stones and many types of
minerals are found here. Its villages possess immense rural charm and natural beauty. Its cities are teeming
with educational institutes, hospitals, high-speed railways, large airports, broad roads, shopping plazas and
public parks. Its villages are surrounded by tall trees, fertile fields, vast landscapes and fruitful gardens. My
country is a place worth-living.
Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never hath said it to himself,
“This is my own, my native country.”
-Sir Walter Scott

I love my country for its democratic culture, legal codes and jurisprudence. Here the situation of law
and order is somehow stable. The policies of the government are prone to facilitate the masses. The strictness
of the government in public offices, social security benefits for the people, ample opportunities for
employment, free- medication, first class education and other such facilities are available to facilitate the
masses.
“All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.”

-Benito Mussolini

I love Pakistan for the respect it gives to women and minorities. The women play their role in the
development of the country. Benazir Bhutto , Aafia Saddique , Arfa Kareem , Maryam Mumtaz and many
other daughters of the nation have played their part. Moreover, Christians, Hindus , Parsis and Ahmadis also
live in this country along with the Muslim majority and they enjoy equal rights .
“You are free; you are free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any
other place or worship in this State of Pakistan.”;.

-Quaid –e- Azam

To sum up , my country is not only a certain area of land, of mountains, rivers, and woods, but also it is a
principle: and patriotism is loyalty to that principle. The essence of patriotism is the sacrifice of personal
interest to public welfare. In poetic minds and in popular enthusiasm this feeling is closely associated with the
soil and the symbols of the country. As I love my country, I have devoted myself altogether for its progress and
welfare.
