Ignition coil
This is equipped with a power switch and is used to
generate high voltage to the spark plug upon receiving
signals from the ECM. It is installed to each of the 4
cylinders, with 12V specification.
Spark plug
Iridium alloy plugs manufactured by Denso are used,
improving abrasion resistance of the electrode.

Fuel System
Maintenance Precautions
• When the battery is not being used, remove its
ground cable.
• Do this in a maintenance garage where there is no
presence of flames and with good ventilation.
Confirm that there is no accumulation of gas when
removing the electric wiring.
• If a gas leak is discovered, do not carelessly
proceed to operate switches such as for lighting
and ventilation fans.
• When removing and installing components such as
CNG container (CNG cylinder) and gas passages,
start the engine after fully closing the manual
cylinder valve (at tank) of all CNG container (CNG
cylinder) in order to eliminate any residual gases.
Idle the engine to burn any residual gas and turn
the ignition switch OFF after the engine stops.
• Make sure to use parts such as pipes that are
equivalent to those specified by Isuzu.
When replacing CNG container (CNG cylinder)
and components, securely install them after
sufficiently inspecting each connection for
damages.
• After installation or removal work, force-open the
valves and thoroughly confirm that there are no
gas leaks at normal pressure.
• For details on trouble diagnosis of the fuel system,
check the fuel system upon refer to the "Engine
Control System" in Section 1A, Engine Control
System (4HV1-CNG).
• The tightening torque for the Dia of 6.35 mm(0.23
in) rigid fuel line coupler is 29 N⋅m (3.0 kg⋅m/22
lb⋅ft).

Starter
The starter is a magnetic shift type starter and an outer
gearing mesh method reduction starter.
The contact point of the magnetic switch closes and the
armature rotates when the ignition switch is turned ON.
At the same time, the plunger is drawn in and the pinion
is pushed forward via the shift lever to mesh with the
ring gear, and when the ring gear rotates, the engine
starts. After the engine starts, the plunger returns, the
pinion separates from the ring gear, and the armature
stops rotating when the ignition switch is turned OFF.
When the engine rotation increases faster than the
pinion, the pinion will be caused to turn in reverse, but
because the pinion is rotating without contact, it does
not drive the armature.

battery terminal before working. The regulator is an integrated solid-state type regulator,
which is installed into the rear end cover together with
the brush holder assembly and is built-in to the
generator.
Generator maintenance, such as voltage adjustment is
unnecessary. There are six diodes in the rectifier
connected to the stator coil that converts alternating
current voltage into direct current voltage. The direct
current voltage is connected to the generator output
terminal.

CAUTION:
Perform this work in a well-ventilated location with no
flammable materials (CNG etc.).
While cranking the engine, high-voltage electrical
power is generated in the ignition coil assembly. It is
extremely dangerous because you could receive a
serious electric shock if it comes into contact with your
body. Use rubber gloves and absolutely never touch
the section of the ignition coil assembly where it will be
mounted the engine with bolts (section with an arrow

Apply a proper amount of the liquid gasket,
avoiding excessive or lack in application. If an
excessive amount is applied, it will cause seizures
from clogging of the oil gallery and oil jet head, and
an insufficient amount will cause the oil and water
leaks.
Perform overlapping applications at the beginning
