 What is the mission statement of your organization?

The mission of our organization is, “Serving you, the right way”. The Vision of
BankIslami is to be recognised as the leading authentic Islamic Bank.

 What is the organization’s main objective, to earn profit or render services to


the society?

The Mission of BankIslami is to create value for our stakeholders by offering Authentic,
Shariah Compliant and technologically advanced product and services. We differentiate
ourselves through (i) authenticity (ii) innovation (iii) understanding our client's needs (iv)
commitment to excellence, and (v) fast, efficient and seamless delivery of solution. As a
growing institution, the foundation for our performance lies on our human capital and
BankIlsmai remains committed to becoming an employer of choice, attracting, nurturing
and developing talent in a transparent and performance driven culture.

 What type of products or services does your organization provides to its’


customers?

The Bank provides all commercial banking products within the ambit of Shariah. The
Bank currently offers saving accounts, current accounts, term accounts, corporate
banking and trade finance products based on Murabahah and Ijarah concepts, consumer
banking products such as auto financing and home financing. You can find more details
on each product by clicking the product and services section of the website.

BankIslami also offers trade finance and structured finance solutions based on Islamic
modes of Musharakah, Mudarabah, Ijarah, Salam and Istisna for its corporate clients.

BankIslami plans to introduce wealth management services soon. BankIslami aspires to


be the first Financial nstitution in Pakistan to focus on Wealth Management as the core
area of business.

 Are the employees working in your organization highly skilled?

Depends on the jobs description. Every employee is well versed in his/her


responsibilities.
 Does the organization provide a stable environment in which employees can
develop and exercise their skills?

Yes
 Do the employees tend to stay in the organization?

Yes, but being reputed and unique nature of the institution, the human resource of
BankIslami is highly appreciated in the financial markets which some times influences
the trend of retention.

 Are there friendly relations among top management and their subordinate?

Yes
 What is/are the most important requirement(s) for employees in this culture to
fit into the group?

Core values of the organization are those personnel traits that every employee should
possess i.e. Trust, Team Work, Problem Solving, Approach, Commitment to Excellence,
Coverage & Openness.

 Does your organization value seniority?

To some extent, but the corner stone is merit.

 Does the organization encourage its employees to take risk and to be


innovative?

Yes
 Do you assign work in team?

Yes
 To whom do individuals report?

There is a proper reporting line in SBP. Officers below top level management report to
their team leader, Team leaders report to Directors, Directors report to cluster heads & so
on.

 To whom do groups report?

Same

 How many individuals can a manager efficiently and effectively direct?

5 – 10.

 Where do decision-making authorities recline?


Team leader and above.

 How do you tackle any worse situation or emergency? Such as fire fighting,
staff conflict, etc.

There is a well organized Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to cope with such situations.

 Do employees follow organization’s primary values and ethical rules?

Yes
 Are the decisions made only by those few at the top of the organization or
delegated to people at all levels in the organization?

Decisions making involves various tires of hierarchy.

 How your organization does motivate its employees? (By using Employee
recognition programs, employee involvement program, variable pay
programs, or any additional benefits).

All the above are used.


 Does your organization offer any Training and career development program to
its employees?

Yes
 If yes, what type of program they offer?

At lower level, job oriented trainings are offered. Afterwards managerial and leadership
trainings are provided.

 What is/are the most satisfying and most dissatisfying factor(s) for you in the
organization?

Innovation and prestige of the organization are motivational factors.

 What type of performance appraisal system is used in the organization?

Bell Curve system.

 Do the performance appraisal system based on merit?

Yes

 Are employees satisfied with this system? If yes, how?


Yes, the system is open to employee's reservations & can be challenged if any one
assumes it to be in justified.

 How do the conflicts among employees resolved in the organization?

Problem solving approach & Team Work are those two core values that infuse the spirit
of healthy relationships among employees, therefore resolving any conflicts b/w
employees amicably.

P.S. With due respect, Sir, I need part (a) till at least 5 – 6 P.M. of 22nd June, because my
Final Date for submission is 23rd of June. And I understand that these are a lot of
questions. I will be very thankful.
