Medical Specialists
There are many types of health care workers. Clients generally start by seeing a
general practitioner, but then they are referred to a specialist. If you work at a
hospital or clinic, you will interact with a variety of specialists.

Match the type of specialist on the left with the correct area of specialty on the
right

1. Allergist = Allergies

2. Cardiologist = Heart Diseases (Penyakit Jantung)

3. Dermatologist = Skin Diseases (Penyakit kulit)

4. Gastroenterologist = Stomach problems (Masalah pencernaan)

5. Hematologist = Blood Diseases (penyakit2 pada darah)

6. Neurologist = Nervous system (Sistem saraf)

7. Ophthalmologist = eye injuries or diseases (Luka atau penyakit mata)

8. Orthopedic Surgeon = muskuloskeletal system issues

9. Otolaryngologist = ear, nose and throat problems (Masalah pada THT)

10. Pediatrician = Children’s health issues (Masalah pada kesehatan anak)

11. Podiatrist = foot problems (Masalah pada kaki)

12. Psychiatrist = Mental or emotional issues (Masalah mental dan

emosional)
Clients may ask, you about the area that some specialists work in. In simple
language, write what these specialits do. Use a dictionary if you need to. The first
one has been done for you as an example.
1. Internist = Treats diseases of the structures inside a body

2. Anesthesiologist = Gives anesthesia to a patient who will be in surgery

3. Gynecogist = Treats diseases of the female reproductive system

4. Phatologist = Analyze the development of a disease or control body

condition.

5. Plastic Surgeon = Changes a body shape to improve its function.

6. Urologist = Treats diseases of the urine formation system
